Thanks for the great service Shardul! Got mine installed end of January. Not too bad to do. I had the belly pan removed and didn't need to remove anything else. I did un-clip the coolant hose that runs across the top of the engine and swivel it out of the way because I was worried about breaking the fitting at the engine end of it. My car is a 2012 with 34710 kilometers (21638 miles) and the pulleys and drive belt are all still in very good condition. A bit early for this upgrade but still done now and less to worry about a broken belt.

Did you do all of the work from the bottom up? Was there no need to remove the radiator fan?

Did you replace the belt tensioner as well or was it taken out to swap the pulley? I wanted to know if I should swap this pulley while the tensioner is still on the vehicle.

Looks like the dust caps aren't reused?

Thanks!

I did remove the tensioner from the bottom and the bottom pulley as well. I just took the tensioner out to inspect it and no I did not replace it as it was in good shape. I used a 5mm allen key to lock the tensioner to remove/reinstall the belt. There was no need to remove the radiator fan or any of the housing. I did replace the tensioner pulley with the tensioner reinstalled on the engine as it was easier to get at the mounting bolts without the pulley attached to reinstall the tensioner.

The remaining pulleys I removed/reinstalled from the top.

The plastic dust caps on the OEM pulleys are not reused on the UPD pulleys.

Thanks for the reply. Forgot to ask, are we supposed to use thread locker or is it okay to just torque to spec?

You can use blue Locktite but not required and 30Nm

UPD recommends blue Locktite so I used it but the bolts did not have any thread locker on them from the factory.

2 bolts are 20 Nm according to MB. The others are 30 Nm.
1.) Pulley between tensioner and coolant pump
2.) Pulley between alternator and smooth guide pulley
3.) The tensioner pulley did not have a spec I could find so I used 20 Nm as it has a small bolt head and uses a bearing shield.

Going by your descriptions and the picture from this thread, it sounds like
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ml#post6442399

1.) Pulley between tensioner and coolant pump ---> 3. Idler Pulley at Timing Case - MFG # 1562020919 - Link to ECS Tuning
2.) Pulley between alternator and smooth guide pulley ---> 1. Idler Pulley at Water Pump, Grooved - MFG # 1562020619 - Link to ECS Tuning

Please correct me if I am wrong, and I will edit my post for future reference

Yes that is correct. #1 & #3 in your picture are 20Nm. #2 & #7 are 30Nm. The bolts to hold the tensioner to the timing case cover are 20Nm. Alldatadiy did not show a torque for the tensioner pulley and I used 20Nm.

I'm doing this tomorrow and just want to double check, #1 and #3 and 20Nm, and then the other 3 pullies are all 30Nm?

Yes that is correct except I used 20Nm for the idler pulley because I did not have a value for it as stated in post #11.
Here is a copy of the MB instructions from Alldatadiy.

So, I'm pretty much tied up, but...

1 issue. The ribbed pulley has a lot of drag on it. When I flip it around the opposite way as instructed (snap ring toward radiator) it spins free but then has a little wobble to it.

Any ideas/suggestions?
