[Decided to just make this my "build" thread. Just a few modest mods really]
I’ve been spending way too much time learning on the forum and gradually choosing small mods. Today I was able to get Mike’s power pipe installed as well as JB Speeds cf roof spoiler. The power pipe is the perfect amount of noise for me to make around town without crossing over into the obnoxious territory. Obviously the product has a good rep here and I’m stoked I pulled the trigger.
Next i I always wanted a roof spoiler look but never got around to it until I saw JBSPEED had them too. After ordering and installing their diffuser a few weeks ago, I was happy to give Brian more business and he continues to prove easy to deal with and the mind bending speed DHL can get boxes from Taipei to CA is practically as fast as ordering from FCP!
I’m happy with the product. Purely an aesthetic indulgence. This weekend Gary’s skirts go on too hopefully completing the look without being gaudy.
Just curious is the power pipe a sec cat or res delete? Cus if its a sec cat delete you will not pass smog in ca. Visual that is. If its res, you're good.

2nd Cat delete but bolts in and out so I have time to find a place not too focused on getting under car.

Wouldnt that apply if you got headers as well? When I get mine I'll just add those o2 things that pull sensor out of direct exhaust flow. That way I dont shut off post o2. Then look for a shop not eager to look under as well. In any event glad you like the mod.
Now with side skirts! Got the last set Suvneer was selling. They looked good. He was easy to work with and fast shipping. I installed them myself and after a day I’m still on the fence if I like them. I used the screw method and probably wasn’t careful enough as I have slight gaps between the rocker and skirt. Don’t get me wrong they look pretty from 5-7 feet. Just wondering if it’s gonna bug me. I’m a bit new to these frp cf products so I can say I was surprised that they were heavier than what I expected. Anybody else feel that way? So aside from adding some cf look down low, I’m not sure. I dunno. Anyway, just my thoughts on style. Gary helped me out and got em shipped by Friday cob and I had em Tuesday which was sweet. I’d love to hear from others with their thoughts. Also, anyone else have these slight gaps? Check it.
I was thinking about doing that but I felt it would make our lack of rear wheel arch even more noticeble. Theres got to be a better way to somewhat match the rear with the front without it being a 5k endeavour.

true but the power pipe is something I can swap in an hour if I get cold feet whereas headers...
When I installed skirts on my m3 I ran a bead of automotive goop down the skirt and fit it in place, then used 3 jacks to push it tight and also used some painters tape. Let it dry overnight then ran some screws in. Perfect fit, no gaps and has held up great for the last two years. Might wanna redo it if all you used we're screws.
Thanks for the insight. I agree that would probably result in a cleaner install. I just didn't want to make it so permanent. At least with the screws on the underside I can simply unbolt and it's fine. Auto goop sounds permanent, but more "finished". Given how much weight they carry, I'm reconsidering doing the front "arkym"-style lip. That must be fairly heavy hanging off the nose too...
Took some better pics today of mainly cosmetic mods to date. When I bought the car, it already had a tune. I freshened it up with new plugs and injectors, brakes, oil etc. All the unfun maintenance stuff. Then I got the wheel in and I've loved it from day 1. The next thing was my painted markers. DIY with a kit from automotivetouchup.com. Then it was the 507 shift knob, red belts, CF diffuser, CF roof spoiler, and "not really CF" side skirts. Sorry the pics are dark. I suck with a DSLR. Anyway, the look is coming together. The all silver on silver was clean but a little boring. Next week my CF lip arrives. I was lucky I guess in that I scored a PFL one Mode had just advertised. That should be sweet and probably complete the bolt ons cosmetics-wise. Then hopefully, ultimately, E85 kit. The one boogeyman in the closet for me are are the head bolts. Yeah it's an '09 with 65,000 miles. No signs or symptoms so I'm just enjoying the car. Enjoy my ****ty photography.
Love the car! Wanted a C63 originally... (ended up with a 2013 C250) Anyways, I'm new to MBWorld (I've had an account since 2012 but I don't remember my login credentials) I want to know/learn how to start Threads/Posts on my car and updates on my build and its current state! If someone could knock some sense into me and tell me how to make a Thread/Post it would be awesome.
(It's probably directly in front of my eyes as usual)

This not the forum for the C250. You might want to look at posting in this 2008- present W204 C250 forum:
Thanks! Trying to keep it classy. Countdown is on till Thursday when my Mode front lip is due in. I’m excited to get a true 100% CF piece in! I’ve been eyeing the hood they have on clearance but refinishing to my color is a major hurdle. Ah well.
