EflexFuel Kit Installed

Hey everyone! Thanks for the help! I figured out the issue. I was dumb and didn't check the wires for which was power because I assumed the obvious that red must be power. Wrong! My oem power is a black wire so I had 4 cylinder's injector power and ground wire mixed up. Everything is running smooth and just filled up today with full E85 and can already tell a difference as well as temp difference. Now I just need to get that custom tune from Jerry😉. This was definitely worth the price compared to the other kits. Cheers!

And i have now the flexfuel kit but i think something is wrong with the pins. Here 2 pics.
The pin for power (12V) is left on the injector, but on flexfuel is on the other side…Need i now swap all 16pins or is that correct?
i could start the engine and runs normal, but i didnt drive.

Kit installed and works fine, the car is much faster
gauge shows 70% ehtanol and 88% duty cycle.
But after 2hours i try again to connect with the flexfuel but the scan cant find the device.
someone same problem?

I use now 100% e85 = 76% ehtanol and duty is around 90%.
my perf. times without e85 was 100-200kmh around 8,5-8,8s and 100-250kmh 16,5s.
now with pure e85 100-200kmh 7,8-8,1s and 100-250kmh 15s.
i think, e100 would once again improve the time, i will try it. But maybe needed bigger injectors.

have someone experience with mixing e85 and petrol?
i used 50% petrol and 50% e85, the Ethanol is now around 43% and duty cycle down at 70%.
and my acceleration is same!
So my final question is, around 40% Ethanol is enough for the max. performance?

With a tune, plm mans and no cats (~450 rw) my duty cycle would hit 100%. 90 is to be expected with your mods. To really see gains from e85 you'll need to tune for it. Might be a little to be gained as is but if you're not pulling any timing at peak power on pump gas, ethanol isn't going to do a whole lot.

I’m installing the e85 kit from vrp got everything but the injectors hooked up does anyone have a picture of what it should look like

Could you expand on the bit about using the multimeter? So then is this kit basically the same as the one Eurocharged sells?

I haven't seen the EC kit but I can't see how it'd be much different. As far as the hookups, the 8 wire harnesses you get with the kit have a plug on one end that plugs into the control box On the other end is an injector plug just like OEM. About 3" up from that plug are two more wires with male leads. These two wires are inserted into the adapter pictured, which then plugs into the OEM injector plug. If there is a difference I would guess the EC kit comes with the leads already inserted into the adaptors. It's super easy though. Touch the black lead on the mm to a ground and put the red lead into the OEM injector plug. You'll either get -8 volts or 8 volts with key in pos 1. The positive wire is the same on all the plugs so you only have to do this once.

for the eflex kit, as long as you retain the same red wire layout on both ends you will be ok. the flex fuel computer doesn't care which side going into the computer is negative or positive, but you will need to keep both connectors uniform and in line as to avoid any issues. i did this by loosely inserting in the male end into the female end and inserting the same color wire to the same color wire. as so they align.

Discovered that my misfires were the result of a few bent pins on the control unit. I probably wasn't careful enough when plugging in the system for the first time. Any how I re-did all the pin connectors just to be safe ( I have extra in case anyone needs some). The wiring orientation shown in my picture is correct. You can follow that if your too lazy to use a multi-meter. Started the car up with no issues. I first filled up with about 30% ethanol to monitor the duty cycle, ect. Did some pulls on the highway and noticed a small difference. I then went back to the pump and filled up with as much as I could get. The app showed 67% ethanol. I then did some more pulls on the highway and WOW! I don't know how much I gained, but it was definitely noticeable. I monitored the duty cycle and the highest percentage I saw was 84%. Under WOT my lamda values were around .82 (very good) and the air fuel ratio was around 9.5. I would definitely recommend this kit, especially since I only paid $340 for it. In the next few weeks I will be doing some more data logging to verify the system is ideal across all driving conditions. My wiring is not the cleanest, but I did this for quick removal ( warranty work).
