need help

Tried installing my Mode Carbon P31 diffuser this morning and trying to determine if its installer error or a fitment issue. after i got it all together i noticed that the tabs on the diffuser towards the ends have not seated and no matter how much pressure i can’t get them to lock, have i done something wrong or should i contact Mode Carbon for a fitment issue?

That looks fine. It’s never going to lock like the OEM piece. Put some silicone sealant in there and clamp it overnight, or fasten with screws.

When the body shop installed mine they took the bumper off the car. You might have to do that to get all the tabs to seat. Anyway it does look fine the way it is. On my 2010 I never did get all the tabs to seat properly but it looked fine. Vorsteiner diffuser though not a Mode diffuser.

Take the bumper off. It will seat better. If it doesn’t stay, put screws at an angle through the tab holds it solid .

I know, the suspense is killing me too! Did he or didn’t he use screws or silicone? Did he get the bumper cover off successsfully? This is INSANE?!?!?!?!

Sorry guys, no updates yet. I know that I wont be going the screw/silicon route so taking my time with the bumper removal. will give updates once I start the process.

So I finally finished installing the Mode Carbon diffuser, i chose to take the bumper off to get the tabs to click in. Removing the bumper wasn’t to difficult, the only thing I had to do was shave down a few tabs on the bumper and it snapped into place...no adhesive or screws.

Nice job. I forgot about those ridges in the bumper cover. I had to do the same.
