Looking for a C63 AMG Black Series (again)
Long story short, Im starting my search for another C63 AMG Black Series coupe (previously had a black on black color combo car) as I previously sold mine and didn't realize how much I enjoyed that car for what it was. Attached is a photo of my previous car, but would certainly appreciate any leads if anyone comes across a Black Series for sale (I do not want the previous generation CLK63 Black Series, C63 only).
Would prefer:
- Non track package (but not a deal breaker)
- Under 30k miles
- Reasonable asking price, having had one I have a good idea where they price out
- Minor modifications (nothing major changed out)
- Stock wheels, and exhaust must be on it or included
- Non-smoker
My email is gxbran14@smumn.edu if that is easier for people to touch base I do not come on here much so that might be an easier way to connect.
Thanks much!
it has had one accident though.

The weird part is the guys story about fighting his insurance company tooth and nail for a new bumper cover because his got lightly scuffed in a fender bender. Why in the world would you ever ding a car like on an insurance report over just a bumper cover. Doesn’t sound quite right, and add to that he’s selling it in a rush over a supposed divorce.... red flag city.
Would be surprised if the owner isn’t on here.

It's not some permanent thing that's there forever unless you have zero hand-eye coordination. In which case you might not want to drive a car at all

There is one that isn't listed yet going up for sale in SoCal.
We have a local AMG Socal Group here, they guy isn't driving it as much and he wants to sell it soon. Offered to the group first before listing.
I belive it hits ALL of your points. He bought it off another AMG SoCal Group member as well so the car has been taken care of all its life.

Non smoker is always a good car to keep, also healthy for you

Again, demonstrating that you don’t know dïck about anything. There’s a reason why people want non-smoker cars, because the smell is just about impossible to get rid of outside of a massive steam cleaning and heavy dose of ozone which can damage rubber/plastic. And even that is 50/50 at best - some scent will almost always be there.

And again, basically everything you said is wrong, as usual. Figure.

There could be a larger pool of them in Eu and the difference in option deletion could well be overlooked.
Hmm, I have not researched the applicable laws but if what you are saying is true any of the EU only cars with club sport packages (Porsche GT3’s, AMG black series and AMG GTR’s with race seats and half cages) could be imported to the US even though those options have not been tested and certified-supposedly why we get the AMG C63’s with the ridiculous pano roof that adds weight and complexity for not good reason.
You need a letter of compliance from mercedes where the car currently is. It needs the vin of the car stating that it is compliant for US federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS). It also has to state it passes EPA and DOT standards. If it doesn’t the car will need to be modified to pass.
All this needed to import it through customs. They may hold the car to verify all this. You also have to pay import tax. There’s some part to do with the nhtsa, I forget exactly.
After all that you’ll Need to take all that plus the original title and get a US title. After more waiting you should be able to register the vehicle in your state.
Before all that you don’t want to risk driving the car. You don’t want anyone to have a reason to take your car away.
Short version: pay an importer to do it. Let them deal with the headaches and legal obligation.
The disclaimer is that this is a fictional or "fictional" story, I'm not giving this as fact.
A famous female news anchor travels to Europe for a news special and rents a Mercedes A class.
She likes it a lot and decided to impulse buy it and to ship it to NJ harbor.
She returns to work to get a notice from DOT to remove the car off US soil or they will impound and crush it.
All these stories feature the word "crush", I don't know why DOT is so violent...
So anyway, being a powerful well connected and sharp person, she dives into the ramifications.. Two days later, turns out that Mercedes DID ACTUALLY Crash test the A class to American DOT standards, Mercedes proudly produces the records and Ms news anchor gets to drive the A class,
Then the history is written that from that point on, anybody desiring to import a 1999 A class into the US can now do this...
