2012 C63 AMG Bi-Xenon Death
I have the 2012 C63 AMG with the Bi Xenon headlights that adjust left and right when steering.
I was driving in DC last night, hit a rather deep manhole cover. Long story short - hard impact, and a few minutes later started getting check headlight message.
Looked at it this morning and it looks like the shock from the impact knocked the cover from the rear of the headlight housing off. Unfortunately last night in DC was rainy so I'm quite sure water could have gotten in there. I tried swapping the bulbs but both bulbs work fine in the left side.
Any ideas of what to diagnose next or ideas on what it could be? I have a feeling this is going to be a PITA/expensive to fix and if I can DIY it rather than take it to the dealership I'd rather go that route.

I mean theres not much to take pics of. Its just the standard assembly - there's no visible damage -- neither the low or high beams turn on even though the bulb is good since I tried it in the other assembly.
I was just looking for some diagnostic tips from the experts here.

Either the headlights ballast has been damaged in some way (possibly by water - they are sensitive to water if it gets into the housing) or the wiring has been knocked loose under the headlight. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the headlight first

Just a thought but depending on insurance policy it may be covered.
After I upset a previous car by hosing the engine bay after degreasing, i sprayed WD40 contact cleaner on all electrical connections i could see. Mostly plugs and plug ends and all problems were resolved.

These headlights have a cover that goes over them in the back to contain the bulb. Unless the cover came off, how could water get into the headlight assembly?
