Is Modern Horsepower still around?/Cooling
Hello,
I was doing research on how to make my 2013 C63 run cooler and I came across Modern Horsepower's intake gaskets and thermostat in an old thread. I looked them up and it seems they aren't around anymore. Does anyone have any info about them and if they still make those parts? I also found out Mishimoto makes a thermostat that opens at 180 degrees. Any other recommendations on how to make my car run cooler?

Talking to my local indy shop, he recommends an E85 conversion kit if you are tracking the car and going into limp mode. E85 runs cooler.
Other people say the BS oil cooler.
Or, don't bother with a racetrack unless the temperature is 80 degrees or less.

My car runs 12-15 degrees cooler on E85 - hence why I didn't do the Sikky's or Mishimoto that i'd bought..... I am running the cooler Weistec plugs however. That said I haven't tracked it yet, but should get a decent sense of how the temps do over a longer period when I run it in the Big Bend Roadrace in April....hoping to have the LSD and a few final tweaks done prior.

I don't track my car. I daily drive it and do some spirited driving. But it runs relatively hot. Sometimes in traffic the temps will jump up to 240 degrees in comfort and other times it will be around 220 degrees cruising at low rpms in manual mode. Usually around 210-215 in comfort on the freeway and 220 around the city. Trying to find a fix that isn't too expensive. I was thinking about checking out the water pump and doing the mishimoto thermostat. I already did new coolant with water wetter and running ravenol 5w-40 (mb spec) oil. I was also thinking about the intake manifold spacers, air filter spacers, radiator block off plate, adding an aftermarket oil cooler (one that is not too expensive).

The combo of the plugs and E85 for sure makes below freezing starts a bit tough...... it'll take 2-3 tries to catch sometimes when it's below 40.... but it runs fine otherwise. I rarely break 215 degrees now but it'll be interesting to see if that holds during the Texas summer

Thermostat doesn’t do much from what I read and people are who go colder plugs typically lose power n/a. Save colder plugs for forced induction. Performance eurowerks makes a radiator block off plate. Give them a call.
