Help pricing my car for insurance
Hi everyone
I could use some help fighting a little battle - or being put in my place
I hydroplaned in the rain, did a 180, and hit a guard rail. my car has been totaled. the Insurance company is not giving me what I feel is a reasonable reimbursement on the car. Anyway anyone knows how to debate this with them
I have shown them other cases of cars in the price they are giving me which is not close to the options my car had. But the issue is that mine had higher miles as it was a daily driver.
What do you all think my car would have sold for or is a good valuation
2012 C63 w/ P31 performance package
P30 AMG development package
- red brakes
-rear carbon fiber trunk spoiler
-titanium intake runners
-balanced crank, forged internals (debatable i know)
22P - track pace
H73 - carbon interior trim
319 lighting package
320 - multimedia package
car had 78K miles but all books, records and service proper

If the car you described was sitting at a dealer, I'd be okay with paying between 25k-28k based on the current market
Edit:
Better yet, use the nadaguide to price your car, that should give you some ammo.

Typically they will negotiate and always lowball, they should pay retail for a similar car miles etc so find a bunch and show them you can’t buy a similar car for their offer otherwise let them know you will be getting a lawyer and get one if you think it is worth it.

thank you
that's exactly what I did
except I didn't threaten the lawyer yet. I showed NUMEROUS examples of how they were off on price
thank you for the lawyer idea

Don't think you get much for more options. Are they somewhere in the ballpark of $24-28k? Many years ago I thought my 911 was totaled. Insurance gave me $30k, but my car was worth north of $60k. Showed them multiple classified ads and in the end they paid for $35k in repairs. All you need is proof, but that's where you're probably having issues finding the same car with the same options and miles. Might be easier to find low mile versions and deduct for the miles

$28K with tax and all
I am having a HARD time finding another P31 even at $30-33K most have lower miles.
the ones that have higher miles have nothing for option
I have found a very nice car in my area with 70K miles and VERY well cared for daily driver with every option EXCEPT P30 performance package which adds $7000
I understand that we can tune our cars and make the same power as a 507+ more but the P30/P31 potentially adds a stronger, more reliable motor to tune.

The best thing you can do is compile a list of other, similar vehicles for sale currently (dealer listings are best) to send to your adjuster. That's how i got USAA to raise my payout from 28k to 41k!

You have an option to receive a payoff check from your insurance company and keep the car for a faction of the value they put on it
then you can fix it as a salvage title or part it out and make up the difference of the funds
a friend of mine had the same issue he crashed his Mercedes got a check for $10000 car was worth $15000 he payed insurance company $2000 and parted
out the car and made $10000 more just on main parts like calipers ,interior, steering wheel ,rims ,entertainment system and a few small parts
AMG parts are expensive so it’s worth keeping the car there’s always someone either doing mods or in need or parts
good luck

Looking around your car really is worth about 28k lots of them with similar miles and p31 well option for that money. With tax probably 30k would be the right payout I would think depending on taxes and fees in your state.

I received a little over 28k for my 2008 C63 with 117k miles when it was totaled in August 2017. This was from State Farm.
I am a little shocked you are only offered the same now. I know values drop but a good insurance company will take care of you.
Then again, payouts probably differ depending on whos fault it is. My accident was not my fault
