Basically I’ve noticed that the gearbox, by itself, likes to shift around 1.5k rpm in C mode.
But if you press upshift paddle even at 1.2 or 1.3k, the tcu will let you. I can shift into third while around 1.2-1.3 in second.
Not always useful, but it’s pretty neat. You can be in 5th gear 800-900 rpm cruising along.

I didn't know and like that you found this. I will try it too
So while on manual, it won't upshift at anything below 1500, I had confirmed this.
Yet you're saying that while on automatic it does allow manual shifts only below 1500.
This almost sounds overall like a factory programming error. I wonder if software updates fix this.
Well, soon when I bring my car in for updates I'll find out. ...

While on automatic, it allows manual shifts above 1500 aswell. It allows anything above ~1250 rpm.

I tried this today. I found it most useful in S+ mode - no need to cruise around at 60 klm/h at 2,000 rpm. C mode shifts pretty early as it is so not a great deal of benefit in this mode.
