I mean, it is a rebuilt title, so it should be cheap... But that is a serious overreaction to some condensation in the exhaust.
Not wanting to spend $150 to have shop look at it (and find the broken thermostat housing) ended up being a pretty costly mistake.

Its clearly been tracked and beat on.
Who knows what else is wrong with it...we dont know the extent of the rebuilt title..... He says its just the rear quarter, but a car doesn't get written off for just a rear quarter panel.

could have had bent suspension at that corner which would raise the value of any repair service. KBB on European cars is pretty awful. I believe the going rate for W211 E63's are roughly 18-27k but KKB is no where near that. AMG parts are pricey. I believe my replacement rear bumper shell alone was 1800...add in parking sensors, reinforcement bar, etc, etc...my entire repair for the rear bumper came out to over 3700 my price with discounts from the shop I was working with. Easily 4,200-4,500 book rate.

He ran the VIN and the dealer said the headbolts were done under warranty... the then owner could have done that as well.
Combine that with the gold tape and you have clear case of someone with more money than sense (or taste)

non-ebay heat reflective tape actually does work very nicely for keeping IAT down. I hate the look myself but still have most of my intake wrapped. Admittedly, I got a really good deal on all the tape
