Question Healty sounding m156?

Hey guys! Found a 2012 C63 Performance pack I REALLY want. Nice condition and well taken care of. All service done by mercedes and owner says it have been a problem free car. Since im far away from a good "mechanic" and new to these engines I wanna ask you experts out there if there is any abnormal sound from the engine or it sounds good? The owner send me a video of a cold start that ill post at the bottom. Cheers =)

Yes it sounds healthy.

Here is sound of my engine:

I was concerned about the ticking sound but apparently it’s normal on these cars

These cars sound horrible, you can make them sound a little better with 5w40 oil and additives.

Just a heads up these engines go through cam adjusters and cams.

Dont freak out when you get the car and you hear a rattle on start up lol

I am using Mobil 1 0w40, pretty much best oil available for these engines.

Here is a similar video from user BLKROKT on this forum

No rattle on start up, already asked that lol.

Yeah same oil thats in this car but just like you said many says you can get it more silent with some 5w40. Thanks for the other vid, and that engine is in Good condition aswell? I again Think this ticks more lol. But is it the lifters sounding or the injectors?? Cant find a clip of like a 100% healthy "new" engine lol. Would be fun to compare

100% truth mobil one is terrible in these cars.. when i switched over to liquid moly 5w-40- it was like a whole other engine when idling and on start up quiet and zero ticking.

Alright first thing first- does the engine sound good so that I can buy the damn car?!

Second I googled the liquid moly 5w40 but there is a bunch to choose from? Top Tech 4100, Leichtlauf, Nachfuell and a few others? All 5w40 and full synthetic? Any special I should choose?

Third (and this is waaay out of the subject) but since I havent tried one I owned yet I wanna ask about your burn out proccedures lol. Talking brakestands, esp off ofc but do you choose sport + mode and just left brake and floor it or manual mode? Start in manual first then manual shift to second? Start in second? Tell me them dirty secrets that works best for this car lol

The engine oil thing is a very old debate. I’ve done enough research and I’m sticking to my guns. M1 0w40 is the best there is for our cars.

Edit: To summarize all my learnings - 0 weight is better than the 5 because it will flow better on engine starts / cold starts. The 0w oil will get to your components much faster at the time where most of the mechanical damage is done to engine parts - engine start up.

In the end, its probably negligible enough to ignore this and just go with whatever you like.

Yeah I hear you man, everyone can choose whatever they want =) but have you tried the 5w40 just for the fun of it and if it makes the engine tick less?

Yes I had it in for one cycle. Didnt notice any real difference, oil temp was maybe 1c cooler.

I found that the 5w40 products were mostly overpriced compared to M1 I could get for heavy discounts.

Your engine sounds great, you should buy the car.

A UOA is the only way to determine how an oil is performing. There's more than enough evidence on here proving what's good.

I've been caught up in the "it sounds better" bandwagon but it's essiently meaningless...

Since I saved up for some time to buy a car I wanted since it was released and Im not that good with engines is it really a dumb question and should I just "get over it"? For me and many others its alot of money so totally unnecessary comment imo..

8 cylinders exploding with fire and gas. This engine sounds like the same thing. Buy it.
