Coin drop noise
Hey guys
im hearing a consistent noise when the engine is running and even after it’s turned off; sounds like it’s coming from the engine bay; it sounds like a coin is being dropped every few seconds; anyone experience this before?

Bump.
Just curious if this was solved as I can't think of a single noise that would continue after the car is shut off except for metal expansion/contraction (or a mouse living in your airbox or actual coins falling out of your pocket protector as you bend over to listen).

That is your exhaust system and its perfectly normal. After driving the car the exhaust system gets really hot it expands, You will notice this more if you drive the car quite hard and then stop and turn it off. The pipes practically all stretch out (Have a look at your exhaust tips after driving for a while you will notice they sit further out from the diffuser). Once you park the car and turn it off and they begin to cool you will here that clicking/coin drop noise as they cool down.

You are correct, this is the best group to diagnose a M156. We are also quite direct.
