Anybody know the history on this W204 C63?
I'm tossing around the idea of picking up a nice example pre-facelift W204 since I had one a few years back and miss it!
This looks like a pretty nice example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133155301198 Does anyone know the history on it and if it was previously owned by a forum member?
I have a few questions for you guys if you don't mind:
-I can't remember if the AMG development package had the factory LSD on 2011 model year cars, could someone help jog my memory? I don't see it listed there otherwise.
-This doesn't seem like the VIN is in the range of the original headbolts, but I suppose that means it could still have problems with the cams/adjusters/buckets. Is it realistic to assume the only way to check this before buying is to remove the valve covers and check for wear/play on the components?
-Tasos Moschatos' YouTube channel shows that even some late-model M156 engines have component wear on the parts listed above, so is it safe to assume MB has not developed a long-term fix for these engines and it's all about (1) previous service history and (2) a little luck of the draw when hedging bets on future engine issues?
-The list price on that auction is $35K but my insurance company (State Farm) only gives that car a total loss value of $23,500. Is that 2011 so 'rare' that it commands such a high premium?
Thank you for helping me do some detective work!!

It does look nice and clean.
The cams, adjusters and lifters are potential problems on all years, so is what it is. Helpful that it should fall in to the newer headbolts so you won’t need to change those.
I believe the lsd was part of the p31 in 2011 but I’m not 100% sure on that one.
Insurance always shows a loss value of less than the vehicle is worth... I’ve never seen one that had a value close to what the price was even new.
you close to the Seattle area? Wouldn’t hurt to go look at it if you are or maybe someone on here could help you out. Good luck

$35k seems like a lot for a pre-facelift with 50k miles.
I got a 2013, 25k miles, CPO from a Benz dealer for right around 40 almost exactly a year ago. Same exterior and interior color too (wood instead of CF trim tho).
I will admit that the CF and porcelain interior is a very nice spec.

I had been looking for about a year before I pulled the trigger, mostly looking at 10s and 11s. That price is very high with 50k miles, IMO. I'd entertain it nearer to mid/high 20s assuming it's well-equipped and has a complete history. Otherwise, mid 20s or lower. State Farm seems to have a good gauge of what the base vehicle should be... so just tack on options from there.

Ya crazy money for that, I sold my 13 18 months ago for 28k 50k miles mint, I would look for a 12 or 13 for that kind of money or if you really want a PFL car, you should be under 30 for a car like that in my book.

Thanks for the replies guys. Doesn't sound like this one has the LSD, and is way too overpriced. Appreciate the reality check!
