Any one can explain What is the purpose of these little box sitting on top of the Y intake collector. I found out by blowing air into the little tube on the bottom right corner that the box has some air leakage all around.. anything to be concern?!

I always thought it was some type of intake resonator. Blowing air pay cause the seal to open up while sucking air into the engine might not leak, I would test it when running on the car to see if it leaks. Other models with the M156 didn't have the box at all, so assuming it is something to help with intake noise.

It’s a Heimholtz resonator to reduce intake noise. Or a brake booster canister. I’ve seen it described as both in various MB literature. It shouldn’t leak.

Here is my take on it.
It is a (vacuum) pressure reservoir (and a resonator in one). Being under vacuum and the highest pressure difference it could have compared to atmosphere would be around 0.5 to 0.75bar.
If you applied positive pressure higher than 0.75bar or 11psi to it could result in a leak because the reservoir isn't made to withstand higher or positive pressure.
Either you permanently damaged the seal or temporarily blew by it.
Just hook is back up and see if it leaks.

Looks like the black reservoir was used initially with the W204 C63. As EPC shows it did not have the metal reservoir installed at all.
Keep in mind that part # A1560900329 can be used in any M156 regardless of the model.

I'm trying to install the old setup on my c63 and was looking for the metal canister part number.
