Any of you guys roll race a ZL1 Camaro?
earlier this night was tailing one who was driving like an ***...he gunned it and i soon followed. he accelerated first so got farther, but he really didn't walk me. also, he was obviously manual, and i believe i kicked down from 4th in sport mode down to 2nd at full throttle. i'm sure it would have been much closer all things being considered. considering this is my 91 octane tune, i'd walk him with my e85 tune.
do any of you have any experiences with the 1st gen ZL1? this thing was lowered, loud, burbles, backfires, and a huge GT wing.

Extremely fast and capable car. I trounced a ZL1 1LE at VIR in 2018, but I think the guy just couldn’t drive (recently saw a supposedly bone stock example go 1:57 at VIR Full, which is 5 sec better than my best). Over 120mph it looks like a brick, but up to then watch out. Those things run about 11 flat at 130mph in the 1/4 so no shame in losing that one.

I trounced a ZL1 1LE at VIR in 2018, but I think the guy just couldn’t drive (recently saw a supposedly bone stock example go 1:57 at VIR Full, which is 5 sec better than my best). additionally, i did get walked by a 2008 Z06 a few months back. if i was on my e85 tune i would have been neck and neck with him i'm guessing...or not. that thing was fast. he was stock computer with intake and header back.

The old zl1 with 560hp aren’t actually much faster than the c63. Buddy had one and my stock p31 was basically even with it until 70~80mph then he would slowly pull
The new ones though are fast, 650 hp with the auto trans especially.

Oh that is a bummer....... my wife says the happiest she has ever seen me is behind the wheel of a race car
My Happy Place... oh and yes buddy's new zl1, freaking fast.... but if he isn't careful i'll walk him off the line but he catches up pretty fast and spectacularly... that was in 2016 gle63s coupe.... big meats on that helped it a bit...

Doesn't take a ZL1 in my experience... I had an unfortunate run-in w/ an modded SS 1LE who cleaned my clock a few times from a highway roll. I only had my EC tune at that point, and I'm guessing he was FBO cause his exhaust was deafening, but the results were pretty convincing none-the-less.

The end of that video is how a good mustang video usually starts except any good mustang driver would have just stayed in it until their trajectory was influenced by an external object (post, curb, fence, another car etc)
