The interaction between the factory and the dealers is complex.
The interaction between the reverse engineers from China and the info that they then sell to us is much more simple.
This second process can then loose vital details.
Here's the deal:
The dealer used to get emails with notifications of changes to procedures, with attachments.
Then there were updates of the WIS that address the changes with maybe a summary of changes.
Then however they have the Mercedes network.
The one that we "pedestrians" pay for unlimited use for 1 hour or one day.
The dealers are now permanently online with that, in my opinion.
Now It is that which validates you're Xentry dealer rig and updates it.
It is possible that the Xentry software is delivered "bare" to the dealers, which is when the reverse engineers grab it and clone it, but then the dealers with the legit Xentry get the downloads from Stuttgart and correct all the typos.
So, what to do? Have a friend at the dealer and ask the question direct.
Tassos can be asked too, I think.
