Camshaft Phaser bolt torque - conflicting info

What have people used when torquing the phasers with new bolts - seems the WIS dictates 45 nm then 90 degrees, but everything else I see including Tasos video and several threads on here indicate a single stage 115nm - anyone know if the recommendation from Mercedes changed at some point and which one is the current correct one, the WIS document I am looking at is from 2015.

This is one video that indicates 115nm from 2015 also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1k2...ature=youtu.be
Tasos video is from 2017 and he indicates the 115nm also.

Thanks

Rob

Cant go wrong with WIS, it's literally straight from the manufacturer, been using that spec for the past 11yrs without an issue. Not to bag on Tasos, more than likely he got that spec from using and electric torque wrench that measured the total after the 90*.

That was my thought also, was just worried maybe WIS changed at some point and wasn't sure what was most recent info.

Thanks

I would not exclude the possibility that torque numbers get revised.
The interaction between the factory and the dealers is complex.
The interaction between the reverse engineers from China and the info that they then sell to us is much more simple.
This second process can then loose vital details.

Here's the deal:
The dealer used to get emails with notifications of changes to procedures, with attachments.
Then there were updates of the WIS that address the changes with maybe a summary of changes.
Then however they have the Mercedes network.
The one that we "pedestrians" pay for unlimited use for 1 hour or one day.
The dealers are now permanently online with that, in my opinion.
Now It is that which validates you're Xentry dealer rig and updates it.
It is possible that the Xentry software is delivered "bare" to the dealers, which is when the reverse engineers grab it and clone it, but then the dealers with the legit Xentry get the downloads from Stuttgart and correct all the typos.

So, what to do? Have a friend at the dealer and ask the question direct.
Tassos can be asked too, I think.

The cam adjuster bolt torque got revised recently. Maybe 2-3 years back so if you are using an older standalone WIS it will have the old spec.

Yes I have the older standalone VM version that has the 2 stage 45nm + 90 degrees.
