New cooler fitted thanks SRG_63

Finally got my new cooler from SRG_63 fitted last week.
Easy to fit, longest part was removing bumper cover and removing my auxilliary oil cooler fan.
I too had to elongate the mounting holes in the cars brackets but no big deal.
Once that was done, fitted new O rings bolted her up and filled up new Liqui Moly 5w40 with MOS2 and that was that.
My only change was that I had already fitted a rubber flap to my under body plate similar to the 440 option, (Thanks BLKROKT for the pics)

Wow that bumper beam is so much thinner than mine. I should cut a huge notch out of mine to let more air flow in.

Nice work

That “flap” that sits right at the leading edge of the cooler and extends about 3/4” under the car is important. It creates a relative low-pressure area directly under the cooler and helps to optimize airflow through it. Without it, you’re just more-or-less lucky to get air flowing through it when mounted flat.

That's funny considering its the FL cars that suffer from overheating problems.
As SRG_63 stated earlier that on the Nurburgring his PFL car ran a few degrees cooler than his mates FL car.

Yup but it’s hardened somehow. The metal shell is what’s tough as nails.

44O question. To empty the front cooler does the bumper come off each time?

With the cooler from SRG_63 the drain is in the same place as stock so just the front belly plate needs to be removed as before to drain the cooler.
Cant speak for 440 option which is no longer available.

Hey guys, my oil cooler is about to arrive (stuck in customs at the moment). 2 questions. First of all what material did you guys use to make the flap? Second, I'm a little confused as to what I'm doing with the auxiliary oil cooler in the fender. Leaving it but disconnecting the fan? Thank you, pumped to get this thing in the car!

Leave the Aux Oil Cooler in wheel arch.
Disconnect and Remove its associated Fan, as it impedes air flow to this cooler at higher speeds.

Like MBNRG said I removed the fan and left the auxiliary cooler in place.
Not having the Aux fan doesn't seemed to have affected the cooling even when sitting in traffic.
So far driving around on 25C days the temp has not gone above 105C even when in S and locking in first 3 gears around town.
Used to regularly see 112C when pushing although that may have been during summer.
May go higher in mid summer 25-34C in Sydney Australia.
For the flap I used garage door weather strip which came with a aluminum base and 40mm rubber insert (see pic above).
The base is screwed onto the bottom tray after removing the ribbing to allow a flat surface to attach to.

Interesting infos regarding aux oil cooler fan. My kit is being send from Germany. Thanks SRG_C63 Should be arriving later this week I imagine. However it may be some time before I install it as I have recently moved and all my workshop equipment and tools are still at my old place, together with my W202 C43. Need to check if I can get the workbench with some decent shelving and still be able to move around in the new garage where my C63 sleeps...

Is the "flap" provided with the kit, or do you need to make your own to fit?

As I said above my flap is made from a garage door weather strip (post #126 pic #4) and is modelled on BLKROKT's 440 kit flap (post #100).
The kit comes with 2 small ducts that you attach to the bottom tray as shown in (post #123)

I confused things sorry. The kit DOES come with the flap. It is made out of aluminum.

Went for the install today. Fan was removed, underpannel was modified with the flaps, and cooler is in! Just been driving around town but it seems to be running about 10 degrees fahrenheit cooler. I'll hit some canyons this weekend for the real review

I think if you can't send messages, you can contact an administrator who will set you up quickly. Otherwise get in contact in PM with the seller SRG_C63

Parcel with all of the goodies landed in front of my door today. Thanks Sven for the top class service
Now just need to get my workshop equipment moved over to my new place so that I can proceed with the install.

Did you figure out the PID params to log engine oil temp in RaceChronoPro?
