Oil, have always used MB oil from the dealership.

Im pretty sure I would be able to tell something is not quite right if the fuel injector was bad....

I am going to give you the basic respect of assuming that you know what oil is in your car, and hopefully it is 5w-40 or 0w-40 and that if you are tracking it you would likely feel a bad fuel injector or notice if it wasn't running properly.

Enjoy
Just waiting for more possibilities.

A bad injector could leak or spray more gas toward the oil temp sensor resulting in lower oil temperature readings without affection engine operation (there have been at least a couple of reports here on the C63 forum). As for the oil viscosity, I am not suggesting that the incorrect oil weight is being used - only that there are enough hot viscosity differences in the xW-40 oils to account for the difference.

Car just hit 30k miles... yes, lets hope for the worst since my oil temps are not the same as others.

Look... we are simply coming up with possible reasons why you're not seeing the same thing on your car that the rest of us are seeing on ours. No one is saying that something MUST be wrong with your car. It could simply be the track layout that you're driving on or that you're smoother on the throttle than most of us and that the TC doesn't interfere as much which arguably increases the oil temps. That's all. No one is saying that your car is broken, that you can't drive or that you're an idiot and using the wrong oil (despite the insinuation that someone else offered after my oil viscosity comment, which I do resent as it was certainly not put forward in that context). The oil temperatures you reported are arguably lower than the oil temperatures most of us were seeing on our cars during track sessions, and those I've personally seen on a dozen different W204 C63s during numerous AMG DA events I particpated in a few years back (and I did a LOT of them... as in so many that for the money I've spent on various events I could have easily bought an SLS). If you are looking for validation of your oil temperature observations, I suspect you are not going to find it here - but none of us are picking a fight or telling you that your car is buggered up.

Well this would certainly be a big difference no one previously mentioned if you think it increases oil temps. Are people really doing track laps with Traction Control on?! That never even occurred to me as switching off TC is the first thing I do after I fire the car up to pull out on track. Can you even find the real limit of the tire or dial in trail braking chassis balance for different corners with the nannies on?

BigBoy, did you run TC on your track sessions?

And you do have some validation for your oil temp observations as my peak oil temps on the track with 20 min sessions were only 2°F different than yours.

I am right there with you. TC completely off!
The car runs so much smoother with TC off. Especially with Cup2s

I might be doing a track event this weekend if the weather holds up. Temperature will be much cooler than in summer but I will take notes on oil temps and come back.

Hello together,

what are the experiences of the newest owners of the cooler kit? Have you already mounted them? Are you happy with the results?

I would appreciate feedback

M6x10mm

Oil Lines use the original Screws. If the screws are broken, I posted the original Mercedes number earlier in the thread.

The air duct would cost $100-150. They just gave me a rough number. I'll have more details tomorrow or the day after.

Shipping to USA would cost $45

Total price 1195$ (10 persons).

Contents: Oil cooler incl. air ducting and oil drain plug.

Edit: What I forgot to say: the radiator is not painted, it‘s powder coated!

hi SRG

Can I get my hands on one of these? I am based in the uk. I don’t seem to be able to pm you sorry. Pm me?

thanks

So little feedback ... Actually a good sign!

I would still be interested in how the installation worked for you and how the cooler performs.

Hopefully I'll be able to chime in as next week I'll be moving all my tools and equipment from the old house to my new home.
As soon as everything is stored away I'll be getting down to the install, so end of the month of May the install should be good.

I've been monitoring oil temperatures over the last months. I'm seeing oil temps between 110°c-115°c in spring time temperatures. Water stays constant at all times and all conditions around 93°c

I paid around 1150$ without the air ducting. The air ducting will be around 250$. So 1400$ complete. I also have to say that there were a lot of calls and changes and the cooler became more expensive than I expected. Now the radiator has been adapted to the car and the dimensions are fixed. If some of you are interested, we could organize a group buy. Then we would surely get a good discount.

I have noticed that some people find it difficult to send me a message directly after they have registered.

You could also send me a request directly by email:

By the way: are there some more reviews? Come on guys, I want to hear feedback

Still going strong my man. Supercharged, temps rise far less than before, temp recovery is super quick, no issues at all.

Almost winter here in Sydney, Australia but still very happy with my purchase, kept temps steady at around 105C with a highest of 109C one hot summer day when playing with the manual mode.

It has arrived!

Received my oil cooler from SRG_C63 today complete with black powder coated air duct (paying the extra is worth it for black), and air vents for the plastic plate under the car.

The carton took a pounding from Germany to Australia, however all was packed well and arrived in perfect condition.

Looking forward to the install and tracking the car without limp mode at 140°C oil temp. Will re-post in the coming weeks after the install.

Looking good. Didn't know you could order with the shroud powder coated in black.
Don't forget to screw the cooler plug supplied with the kit. Why you may ask? Well I did with some consequences....
