the eflexfuel kit is better than the afd kit. it can read more levels of ethanol content than afd.

So I just ordered the MLK connector harness as a replacement, does it only come with the MLK connectors and not the EV-1? Their customer service rep sent me the MLK connectors but in the images they also showed EV-1 connectors. I am afraid I may have ordered the wrong ones now.

they offer one or the other. if you want one end to be MLK and the other end to be EV1 there is a I believe $150 dollar charge for that. like i mentioned previously, if you purchase a replacement harness, you'll need to rewire one end for EV1 connectors. best you just replace the one bad pigtail on your current harness because it is more than likely that single EV1 pigtail is faulty.

Edit: Now I understand what you were saying. I will see if I can contact them to update that for me or take it to a professional person to do the wiring or just install my headers call it a day then do the e85 with upgraded injectors later.

Okay something really weird happened. And I need the experts to really chime in.
As I mentioned in a couple posts back as I was removing the kit (forgot the battery was plugged in and the key was inside the car) I was testing the ev1 connector realized it was dead and I cut it off. Something happened in between and something sparked inside the engine bay it was when I cut the ev1 connector some of the wires were exposed and touched the chassis. I didn’t think much of it so I kept going.
loaded my old tune, went back to stock, and everything seemed fine. I attempted to start the car and nothing. Not even attempting to crank. But all the lights radio, windows, etc is all working. Just hear a click. So I let the car sit for a day. Went back and again nothing. So I left the battery charger in for about an hour. Came to the car and all it did was crank a little. So I left the charger in there a little longer tried again slowly cranking. Maybe the system isn’t pressurized with the fuel? So I let the car sit in the on position for a bit.
Btw the ground issue is fixed, found a nut and screwed on, as all this is going on.
so today, car still isn’t starting. I tried to jump start. Still nothing. Check battery with multimeter it is reading 11.6 volts. At the on position it is like 9v so I am assuming my battery somehow got toast?
did that spark in the engine bay with the exposed wires from the eflex kit cause something crazy? Is the car short circuited somehow? I am lost at this point.
any help is appreciated. This thread just took a crazy 180. 🤦🏽♂️

11.6 is low you said you tried jumping it? Sounds like your battery is dead. Hard to tell from what you are saying. That or a fuse. But 11.6 is low and 9 v with ignition on def low.

how could the battery get low that fast? And I checked the fuses in the engine bay and they all looked good. I will check the ones in the trunk tomorrow. After all this I still want my damn e85 kit. Sheesh. But I am scared something really bad might have happened. Obviously I don’t know **** about cars. I just follow instructions really well and can do anything when I have instructions. 🤦🏽♂️ I am so frustrated with this.

Yea I tried to jump start it would crank but no start. But what I am trying to determine is 20min before I removed the kit, the car was starting with misfires. Once the exposed wires from the eflex kit touched the chassis and caused a spark from the wires everything started acting weird.

is the kit fully disconnected? Every component?

pull the battery and charge it. at your current voltage you won't be able to start the car. during cranking if you're under 10.2 volts or so you won't start.

Got the battery fully charged from pepboys up the street their tests said the battery is good. So I am assuming something is taking charge away from the battery. I am also at a quarter tank which I thought should be more than enough to start the car.
about to put the battery in. Let’s see if it starts

Well more bad news. Car cranks really hard which is good but still no start. I will double check to see if fuel is getting to the engine correctly.
I assumed going back to stock wouldn’t give me issues but I am hoping I messed up something with the install rather than something with the car actually being messed up. Some how. Really lost at this point.

if battery is charged and you're still seeing voltages as so...you have a ground fault. something has failed.

Another ugly update.
battery is perfectly fine. I had my hood open for like 3 days and didn’t realize it draws battery.
here is a real bad news. As I attempt to start the car, it cranks but I take my long screwdriver place it up against the fuel injectors and guess what. No clicking at all. So now I am almost 99% sure it is fuel related but also fuse related. I might have blew a fuse or a relay I need to replace.
Does this sound correct at all? I will pull and take a photo of each fuse to verify if they are good or not.

The fuses should have two probing points on the top face that you can check to see if current is passing through. With the ignition on, you should be able to probe both points with a test light or multi-meter to check if you have 12V on both points. If the fuse blew, only one side will show 12V, and the other will be dead or show ground.
Should save you the trouble of pulling each fuse individually and checking visually.

There may still be a fuse layout diagram in your trunk, tucked in with the tire changing tools on top of the spare tire. It can be hard to see so you have to look carefully as it is folded up to a small size.

Thanks, mort. I will double-check it again today after work. I am praying it is a bad fuse or relay preventing this.

Update: Header install got delayed due to shop closing due to coronavirus.
Eflexfuel is sending my harness which is "an MLK to EV-1 harness, i.e. factory connectors to upgraded injectors." So when this arrives I am actually debating of attempting to reinstall it. Most likely I will. I would love to have some E85 right about now.

Got my updated harness from Eflex. Wiring looks awesome and is so clean. Just have to do a small amount of stuff to get it ready and I am sure I won't have as much issues tucking it this time since it is so beautiful.
Planning to do this sometime this week to enjoy some e85.
