Okay, guys, this is getting serious. I need confirmation from everyone on the list. Then I would like to send a private message to each of them regarding the terms of payment.

Do we know how much it’s going to cost yet? 2150 for the roof if we are doing the autoclave but then the shipping is 750 to la and then I have to ship it to Canada from there?

I would ship the roofs in a big box by container to the United States. The roofs will be packed separately inside the box in another box. Then you would only have to put a shipping label on each box and have the roofs picked up by a shipping company.

This is the absolute cheapest and simplest solution.

Of course I cannot calculate the total costs. But whether it will be 50-150$ more, it should not fail with such a project.
If you can provide the dimensions of the individual roof boxes and weight, people can figure out shipping from LA (my zip is 90403). I can ship UPS or FedEx or whatever but let’s keep it to one provider please. I’m not going to open them or check them or anything (unless you want me to, opinions?), I have no liability here but you guys know I’ll treat them as my own while I’ve got em. I’m literally just going to pick them up at the port, take a box out for mine, slap labels on the rest and coordinate getting them picked up.

Would also like to know how the initial shipping to the port is applied. I assume split evenly between the North America bound roofs.

Oh man, that carbon roof is going to look so sweet on your C63's.
i reckon on a white car, the contrast to the carbon roof will look epic.
I'm just a wee bit jealous here in ****ty South Africa.

I pick up the roofs with my transporter and drive them myself to the harbour in Bremen. This saves us a lot of money. I'll pay for the fuel myself.

I really want this roof

It is also absolutely no problem to send the roof to South Africa. It just costs a little more. I think about $400-600.
If you're interested, feel free to pitch in.

That is also absolutely no problem.

Where should I take the package to?

So you also confirm your roof in the group purchase?

Oh I wish I could. But thanks to our useless government, our currency is worth nothing.
It's just way too expensive for us.

I actually sent my car back to the east coast, so will need to ship the roof there as well. I can take care of that on my end if it makes it easier for you though!

Concerning the production I was told that the layer of the roof are made in the same way as OEM BMW roofs. So no aramid. According to the manufacturer this is not necessary and would cost more.

1. If no Aramid layer, what is the bottom layer composed of? What will the Carbon Fiber bind to, to help reduce shattering?

2. Are all Roofs confirmed Autoclave? Some members have not apparently chosen an Option yet.

When shipped to the USA will all panels remain sealed in their individual boxes until shipped out to the individuals so we all have an equal chance of ending up with an undamaged product, or will all boxes be opened upon initial arrival to check for damage? Thx

Weekend/Project - W204 C63.
I have a sedan, interested in the group buy.

Did anyone price out how much it would be for the headliners and everything (buttons, lights, controls, etc) for in cabin?

I assume that a high-value shipment like this would be insured from Germany to here in LA. In order for the insurance to work, I would guess that I have to open the boxes to check that they made it ok. If I were to just ship along roofs without checking, a) the insurance is unlikely to cover, and b) it doesn’t make sense to ship busted roofs from here only for the unlucky receiver to not only have to figure out the insurance mess created, but also incur the expense shipping one roof there and back.

If I check them here first we can nip any issues right away and still be in compliance with carrier insurance etc. I think.

All to be confirmed by SRG_C63 of course. I’m fine either way.

And for what it’s worth, I’ll be the first one to take a broken roof for myself and deal with it, and ship on the good ones.

You can just use your exciting headliner if you want.

Only Carbon just like the original BMW roofs. There a 3 layers carbon, so shattering will be reduced.

No, not everyone confirmed yet. All I can say is people should do it. But if nothing happens, the group buy dies.

If anyone is interested please let me know, that you are 100% in.
