Is my manifold cracked?

So after doing a oil change i noticed this crack where the fuel rail bolts, there are no CEL or whine... I do hear a psssss (vaccum sound) while car is idling around the front of manifold..

also how can I check if the gaskets are bad? I just got this 09 with 60k on it

thanks

when the engine is warm, spray some brake cleaner (be generous) at that area. If the idle changes there's your leak.

Hope that helps

I did sprayed some carb cleaner but idle didnt change at all, maybe a lil but not noticeable.

Theres a sort of struggle around 2k rpm when im light on throttle.

I dont want to take off the manifold and find that is good.

That crack isn't going all the way though yet. I would try to relive the stress/tension a little by loosening the bolt and adding some spring washers.

That looks just like the crack on the R63 manifold from a few years back. It will only get worse. Better to repair it correctly now and get it over with before it causes a problem or becomes unrepairable and ends up costing big $.

Any ideas on how or who can repair it!? I found this company called RMT that rebuilds the manifolds but they wont fix cracks and dont seem to explain what they rebuild

anyway Today I sprayed more carb cleaner on the front part of the manifold under the engine cover and the car started to stall when I sprayed..

Start calling around locally for anyone who can weld magnesium. It’s a fairly specialized skill but it should be cheap. Your manifold doesn’t need rebuilding, but while it’s off you may as well check the throttle plate to make sure it’s not corroded.

I will take the manifold apart and check on the throttle plate.. Does that need to be taken apart or just looking the underside of the manifold will show the plate
