Transmission Slipping 3rd
Well kinda up ****s creek right now. Just hit 80k miles and the transmission is starting to slip in 3rd gear under full wot happens randomly.
Kinda on the fence on how to go about handling this. Drain Refill and hope for the best?
I got a quote for a rebuilt transmission for $4500 unlimited mile warranty for 3 years. ( Trusted Shop )

are you on a tune or factory stock? many tunes cause issues with shifting.
the factory transmission should easily go 300k miles or more with regular service and maintenance if on a factory tune.

Flashed back to stock waited for the car to come to temperature. Did maybe three pulls it wasn't slipping like before. I will have to drive it more to really find out. I ordered the kit and will do a fluid change next weekend.

with mods the factory tune won't be bang shift boom responsive but if it's better than when you had the tune...as I mentioned, tunes out there that exhibit this behavior ruin transmission shift quality which in turn causes transmissions to wear and fail over time. full transmission service and rebuild...easily 2-6k.

Being on stock P31 file larger injectors and headers and E85 won't be an issue?

It won't be correct but the idea is to confirm the fact it's the tune not the transmission. The 722.9 is an awesome transmission for it's time. It was only bested by the ZF 8-Speed transmission which was developed by ZF who their main focus is transmission development.
