Just purchased a 2012 C63 (P31) today with 110,000 km on it. No problems with safety inspection. Car appears to be in great condition.
Got it home and went out to put some fresh gas in it and when I returned home and parked it, there is oil pissing everywhere at the front right wheel. Oil in the wheel well and inside the rim. Puddle on the ground and all down my driveway.
Looking from above there is nothing to be seen. Too dark now to get under the car.
Ideas? Is there an oil cooler line in there? I'm very mechanically inclined but this is my first Benz and I'm not familiar with the car yet.
Is it typically the hose or the cooler that fails? Tough to access? Drop belly pan and all will reveal itself?
there’s a Bolt just under the front cover, where the under shield meets the bumper on the passenger side that’s a plug for I believe cooler itself, if you car has been exposed to road salt, it can corrode and fail.
You found an internal leak in the cooler? Did something strike it? Yours looks new compared to mine lol. This is also after I spent 20min with a dental pick to clean out the fins.
It has to be an internal failure of the cooler. Nowhere else for the oil to magically appear! Inlet and outlet hoses were dry. Not a speck of oil on them or the flanges.

I threw out a perfectly good oil cooler - that same one, that was used for a total of maybe 5,000 km - about three months ago. It got replaced with a bigger one when I had the 44O oil cooling package installed a number of years back, and I had kept the original parts in the locker downstairs until we cleaned it out in the summer. I figured no one ever is going to need it... I would have gladly given it to you for free.

Dammit, I would have taken it off your hands because mine is probably only 70% effective right now.
