2014 Edition 507 C63 AMG
Question AMG Button for W204 C63

Does anyone know the part number for this button? I've been asking some local repair shops but they can't identify it either. I read somewhere that it only comes with European C63 models.

AMG Button for the 507 C63

I got the screen shot from this

It’s for AMG performance media. I don’t believe you’d be able to find it anymore. So I was wrong

A 204 905 98 03 2A17

Not certain about availability

Not only on European models
I'm in the US and I have it

from what I understand it was only on Black series and 507 edition cars. I could be wrong though. It is tied into many sensors throughout the car and the button brings up digital gauges for "track purposes"

I don't think that you can find the button by itself. It's probably part of the assembly.

Yes, as quoted by Go Team - this button is specific to those of us with the Performance Media option. I'm sure they're out there, but talk about a needle in a haystack...

Exclamation

Your user description says that you have a 2014 Edition 507. That button is part of the switch block on every BS and 507 ever made because they all came with the Performance Media - yet you don't know what it does, you "read somewhere that it only comes with European C63 models" and you are asking how to get it when the car you claim you drive already has it, and you are furthermore pulling screen shots from a YouTube video.

What are we missing here?

507 did not come with that button, performance media was an option on the 507 even, may have been standard on the BS. Wish someone paid the 2500 on my 507!

I stand corrected and apologize to G-Von for my ignorance.

This is the first time I am seeing this. AFAIK the Performance Media was standard on all 507 cars in Canada and Europe, as were the LSD and Keyless Go (as well as the 507-specific 19" forged wheels, although that option could be only for the black colour). I didn't think that Mercedes could ever offer a 507 hp RWD car without a limited slip diff, but apparently they were already making some pretty idiotic decisions, especially for the US market cars.

To answer G-Von's question, the entire switch block panel is available from any MB dealership as a single part (specific switches are not individually available - the whole block needs to be replaced), although that button is not going to do anything without the rest of the sensors, harness, circuitry/modules and ECU programming for the Performance Media option.

Ya we got screwed in the US, it is crazy to put 500hp in a non LSD car and it is a hard to find option, most cars were not ordered with it - I got lucky and mine has that option and whomever ordered it spend money on basically ever option other than performance media and distronic - I would have spent the money for the light up door sills on performance media, maybe even the carbon trim money on the performance media.

USA always get the important stuff standard like a crappy pano roof that makes noises, breaks and most parts aren't available separately! Getting the control panel for the amg button isn't difficult. Making the button work that's the real magic

I suspect that for every market Mercedes is putting in some features as standard that sell the cars and leaves out other features which they may or may not offer as optional for those that want them but are not likely to increase the perceived value of the car by the majority of buyers.

If I had a choice I too would have chosen a solid or even a CF lightweight roof in the C63 instead of the panoramic glass that just adds ~200 kgs at the highest point on the car and also reduces torsional rigidity. If I was in the market for an SL, then yes, glass would indeed be the logical choice.

I have a 2014 507 here in South Africa, and ours also did not get the performance media or the LSD as standard.
I have since fitted a Wavetrac LSD. Would have been awesome if the previous owner specced the media package.
