Oil leak infront of the car!!!

I have a 2012 c63 and past couple days the car was driving good with no issues. Yesterday I noticed oil on the ground standing infront of the car so means you can see the oil leaking without looking under the car. I checked engine oil levels and power steering and it was fine I took it to the mechanic to check and he said that it is the transmission oil cooler leaking because the leak is located right behind the front bumper. I was wondering if any of you guys can help me out and let me know what I can do before I spend money unnecessarily

Well transmission fluid is generally red. Should be easy to tell what type of liquid it is I would imagine.

If it’s had a recent trans fluid change and had the updated fluid, the trans fluid could be the new gold color too.

Is it a new spec for the MCT? Or just the Mercedes fluid changed colour?

The Pentosin and Fuchs from https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol...236.15_en.html all still say they're blue.

its literally in the middle right behind the front bumper I think it’s coming from the long black oil cooler right behind the front bumper near the bottom

It’s coming from the passenger side and it’s dripping from the front and cause I drove it home from the air it spread to the middle where the cover is

my goodness that's a lot of oil to be losing. if it were my car, I'd stop driving it until I had it fixed and would definitely be checking oil levels if I had to drive it. keep in mind that when you drive your oil is both thinner and under pressure so if you are losing that much when your car is parked, I can only imagine how much you're losing while driving.

did you hit a curb or something that could have damaged your oil cooler? i think you need to get those plastic pans off so you can see exactly where the oil is coming from. If you're not able/willing to do that, you should have the car towed to a shop for evaluation.

There is a connection at the right end of the center oil cooler going to the cooler in the wheel well that could be leaking. There is also a drain plug at that end of the oil cooler that could be the source of the leak. As suggested remove the plastic belly pans and have a look or get to someone that can.

I would also get the underside and protection shields cleaned to remove all traces of oil. That may also help sourcing where the leak(s) is/are coming from

The thing. Is my dad checked the power steering and engine oil and it was normal and I took it to my friend that’s a mechanic we put it on a hoist and removed all the covers and stuff and it was dripping a lot of oil from this black long oil cooler in the front in the middle but near the passenger side. I asked the mb dealer near me and he quoted me 650+ tax Canadian for that black oil cooler is that a good price or is there anywhere else I can get it oem

One of the members on here that has upgraded his cooler may have the old one for sale.
Before you rush out and buy anything give the area/cooler a good degrease to determine exactly where the leaks is coming from.
It may turn out to be something simple like an O ring or even the drain plug copper gasket.

My ML63 had an oil leak from the oil filter housing gasket and the crank pulley seal. It would leak 2ltr per 800 km. I found some oil was dripping on the oil lines traveling until it reaches the oil cooler.

I have concluded that it’s coming from engine oil cooler coming from the long black cooler right where the front bumper is

Is it possible to point out the source of the leak on the oil cooler? Photo is worth a 100 words...
