W204 C63 Torque Limitation Error Codes
Recently purchased a 2010 C63. The car began throwing Traction Control Unavailable warnings, occasionally at first, and then with increasing frequency. The car goes into limp mode when it happens. It can be temporarily alleviated with a stop and reset. At some point the check engine light came on. My trusted mechanic put his reader on and found these error codes:
1916 Stored The inlet manifold pressure sensor is faulty.
1061 Current & Stored Torque limitation or shutoff of the combustion engine has been triggered by the torque control system.
2313 Stored The torque calculation of the control module is faulty.
My mechanic believes the engine is driving the Traction Control Error warning and the switch to limp. He thinks it's a faulty intake manifold heater, and will likely require replacement of the entire intake manifold ($$$$). There is a technical bulletin out there on this very matter.
Side note: The car has often been idling very high...like 1500-1800 RPM, especially after a good pull or two.
Has anybody else any similar experience?
I welcome any experienced interpretation of the codes, as I know these complex cars don't always say specifically what they mean.
Thanks in advance.

do you know if the vehicle has been tuned? the torque calculation is done within the engines computer for the most part. traction control i believe is handled through the body computer, but i'd defer to a mercedes technician for further details on that.

It has been idling high after warming up, like 1500-1800 RPM. It idles under 1000 when first started up. Not sure what you mean by ignition timing. The car has 120K on it.

How do I know this, I just had mine replaced.
Also, I agree with Barry. Possibly be a tune issue. Improper Torque limiters.

What ended up being wrong with the intake manifold, was it the typical deterioration of the magnesium allowing the throttle plate to leak and or an external leak due to corrosion or something more? Just curious.
