Looks awesome, any plans if you're going to provide an ice tank with the kit to mount in the trunk?
Can't wait to see the finished product, still deciding between this kit and the PTG kit.![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)

Supposedly they were going to come out with a cast version which would be cheaper. The billet was going to be limited to the first few people that backed it up or what not. If the pricing is around that, idk how it will hold with other tried and tested supercharger kits.

This one uses the latest Gen 5 3.0L Whipple supercharger, and you get a nice billet intake manifold with Hellcat style intercoolers that are easily serviceable or upgradeable.
Only downside I see is the 6-rib belt setup, but we're not spinning these blowers hard enough with our boost setup to notice that much belt slip if any.

If someone could get a supercharger to the 5/6k price range they would sell like hotcakes.. You can get an entire used hellcat engine for 10k :| The tech isn't that different from other superchargers is it? genuinely curious.

It costs to develope a manifold, intercooler, air piping, sensors, the tune etc. 10k honestly isn't that bad if everything is well developed, especially for a platform like this. But had they been able to come in at the 8-9k range I think yeah they would have a lot more interest. At this point it's so close to the proven kits...especially the 4.0L kit and the other various 3.0L chargers being so similarly close. In saying that if it puts down some numbers and is well reviewed by some independent people it's still cheaper so might be the Best Buy out there. I don't like the rear inlet design being super sharp and the design somehow comes across as somewhat odd looking.

I believe you get an outdated 2.3L Gen 2/3 with the Weistec Stage 2 kit.

And yes, The gen 5 is a completely different supercharger, It is drastically more efficient than any of the other kits

Looking forward to seeing some numbers from the kit and how well it cools vs the others on the market before I make the jump.I have no clue why the other company's haven't switch to the gen 5 stuff it is leaps and bounds better then the older blowers.ptg should be using Whipples gen 5 3.8 and the rest should be using the gen 5 3.0 maybe they just have old stock to sell first or they don't really care is my suspicion.

Yeah....knew I saw the similarities even for a second.
I see a vendor on this forum took my suggestion of finding a tuber to ad through.
You also have Alex in the picture above, doesn't require much of an Internet Sherlock Holmes to deduce this stuff.

Payment done. Looking forward to getting the unit. Thank you VRP for being super accomodating and answering all my questions and concerns over the email/phone. Thank you for allowing some aesthetic customization as well.

I tune these engines and couple other AMG engines for fun. Already have a DOE matrix ready for VVT optimization. Base map is ready too based on theoritical calculations for a 6psi boost (approx).

I wonder why VRP is not a forum vendor anymore. Also it appears the kit cost is now 11500 starting, and doesn't mention including the tune. Does anyone know if the tune is included?
