I think I understand why you immediately started with 3.0L as the Weistec blower proves reliable at that displacement so risk level is lower and Whipple makes arguably the best twin screws for V8's in the world so that's a solid platform concept for sure.

But im curious why the blower displacement is small for these cars in particular.

Coming from the Ford small block world it seems as though 4.0L would be more advantageous given the size and durability of the M156 being able to utilize the displacement more so than say...a 4.6L 4V to wit several guys use 4.0L blowers.

I think a C63 with cowl hood isn't insane since you're spending 5 digits for a blower it seems like a new hood is like pennies in a wishing well by comparison.

Definitely interested to see how this turns out just from an enthusiast level, always nice to see more options in the market.

the 2.9L and 3.0L Whipple's have the capacity to make 1000whp. not sure where the concern is regarding them being too small. the 4L Whipple is a gen2 or gen3 but is a 700-1200whp blower. Eaton TVS blowers are the best until past TVS2650 which is a 700-1150whp blower

It was curiousness not concern in particular.

The idea being that this engine could utilize the size of the displacement more effectively in regards to a power band than a smaller motor which is usually an issue with big blowers like 3.9L/4.0L.

Where you may end up robbing peter and paying paul is the inlet design in general being a tad more refined on the smaller later gen's so possibly moot until they update their larger setups inlets where you can see a % boost that doesn't feel superfluous.

Nevertheless, glad to see experimentation and expansion.

always best to determine a max power you hope to achieve and select the correct sized blower for that power output. larger blowers require more power to turn and do not have the same efficiency and output at rpm ranges as a smaller blower would generally provide.

They have the capacity but I have yet to see anyone make over high 700whp with one. I know a few of the guys down under are running good times so they are likely making some power but I've never seen a m156 dyno 900+ except that white one that was spraying the house down and made like 1200whp.

dyno's in Australia read lower than in the states...those 700whp guys are really in the 800's. most of the limits regarding power outputs have been limited to availability of proper tuning.

It probably does take a bit of time to find the right shop in China to make them, and then it will take more time for the cargo ship to send over the parts. LOL

Hello Everyone, Sorry for the delay, Its true things do take time.

2 weeks ago one of our Employees was in a fatal motorcycle accident and passed away, sometimes life gets in the way of things and you need to have your priorities in line.

Thank you all who support us and continue to believe in us and the products we work hard to put out. And to the rest of you, I wish you the best.

here are some updates on the kit, The first unit was test fit perfectly on CL and S class, aswell as w212 models, But we needed to reduce the overall height of the unit by approximately 3/4" for the W211 and W219 models. That took a major redesign on some major portions of the kit which took some time, those changes are complete now. Here are some pictures of the completed inlet design. 82 and 85mm compatible out of the gate.

For the record all of the billet components in this kit are made in the USA, so the comment about the factory in china can shove it. Almost every part we sell is made on US soil by small businesses that work their *** off to support this community.

Here are some photos from the mockup we did a few weeks back. The kit fit great on the CL, S and E and is good to go as is. However to make it compatible with w211 and w219 we had to make some changes.

That kit looks great and must have a great potential, the limitation will always be the transmission. A 4 liter blower should produce around 1,000 to 1,100 whp in a m156 engine, it will required a turbo 400 transmission or other option.

Another update. Test fit went perfectly. No additional changes needed! From the last version we made the following changes:

Shortened the supercharger 1"
Moved the manifold bolts to the inside of the unit for easy access
Relocated the mounting holes for the billet fuel rail,
Made adjustments to the inside of the unit to increase volume
Adjusted 6 rib pulley location

The unit itself is complete. We are now working on side mounted throttle bodies instead of rear mount. But this unit should be running in a week or so. (Had to put an engine in the test car, still need to connect everything)

Extremely interested
Will the supercharger work with the stock internals?
would I need to modify anything ?
would you provide the remap ?

thanks

Yes it will,
No cutting, shaving, or welding, The kit is bolt on
Yes we can provide a tune.

We have a couple pre order kits left if youd like to get one of those. Tech@vrpspeed.com can get you setup.
