Headers and resonator delete + OEM mufflers. Very loud?
Hi guys. Who uses headers and straight pipes to OEM mufflers (no resonator) on their C63 W204? Show how it sounds please. I use MBH headers with x-pipe + resonator and OEM mufflers. I think to remove the resonator and put straight pipes. Should I do it or not? Will it be very loud?

It will be very loud. No sound clip or video really shows how loud it actually is. I have a '13 with headers straight back to the muffler. No cats, no resonators. It's loud. I like it but it is very loud. Also keep in mind if you go without cats you will smell gas. I actually like the smell but if you have a family or others that ride in the car, and you are in traffic standstill the smell may bother you or them.

+1 I have the same setup however I only drive the car on weekends. No video truly does the loudness justice -- sounds like a race car and cold starts are BRUTAL. Even warm starts scare everyone around me when I take it anywhere lol.

Really loud, not in a bad way from inside the cabin. But its annoyingly loud outside. Sounds cool if your trying to attract un wanted attention though.

I've heard one - it's very loud. It will hurt your ears if you're outside of the car. It's a little too over the top in my opinion.

I’ll always say this. If you committed to LTH+MP why worry about the resonator. If you don’t like the tone it’ll be easy to return back to stock. As others mentioned, no video camera can capture the true high/low/mid pitch that you’d like to see/hear.

I installed high flow cats on my agency headers (agency headers to stock resonator, stock mufflers) and it toned it down abit.
Less rasp and regular driving won't turn any heads and you'll mostly fly under the radar. Twist the knob to S or S+ in sport traction mode and it's monstrous. True dual personality.
Cold starts are still terrifying though.

It is annoying loud.
I had cat delete, straight pipe and IPE mufflers with the headers.
I ended up re-installing OEM mufflers, resonator with some higher flow cats and still have to keep the garage door closed during cold start.

I’ve really been debating on doing the same thing with the exact setup. I’ve been avoiding it cause I know my neighbors will hate me more than they already do. But since now I don’t daily drive my 63 anymore I’m leaning more towards it. I’ve also thought about buying those remote exhaust valve systems.

Loud, not loud… it really depends on you.
I have headers, no cats and resonator, 3 inch X-pipes to stock mufflers. It’s perfectly dailyable for me, my wife even drives it to work sometimes 80 miles round trip and she never mentions it being too loud.
Cold start on the other hand….
