Aftermarket catalytic converter question

Aftermarket catalytic converter question
My catalytic converter clogged up on my 2014 c63 and was wondering what’s the best aftermarket high flow cat out there. Really don’t want to pay the $2100+ from the dealer for the driver side primary cat. Thanks for your time

Idk man. My car is s/c and i bought some nice high flow race cats from roe racing and installed them in the primary cat location, and promptly melted them out my tailpipes. Seems they were designed to be secondary cats and not primary. Ive since cleaned all the residue out and am running factory exhaust manifolds with no primary or secondary cats ( mikes power pipe) and am loving it. But i dont have emissons to deal with here.

you'll have to check if aftermarket cat's are even available for the M156. usually you cannot legally install an aftermarket cat while the factory manufacturer still has them in production and sales.

You want 200 Cells Per Square Inch, metal substrate converters. 100 CPSI would be even better.
One thing that OEMs do very well is to flare up the diameter of the exhaust into a very large diameter converter.
For instance, going from a 3" exhaust pipe to a 3.5" converter is one thing. Going from 3" to a 5" converter is something else ...
There are some concerns however, because if the converter runs cold, it will not meet a ... minimum threshold of being active.
You make the flow too easy, the converter will never achieve light-up.

These might be an option. I am thinking about them in the future, mainly due to the relatively easy install:

I would recommend HJS or GESI cats. Both companies make high flow 200 cell cats targeted for the performance guys. Don't expect cheap though. I have used the HJS cats in many high powered applications with great success. The GESI cats I see are becoming a popular lower dollar option, but I've not personally used them yet.

I use a pair of these "HO" Gen 1.
Awesome cats, going on two years, no issues.

Ordered the armytrix high flow cat and Just received it today. I’m very disappointed there’s a huge dent on one side next to the cat, not sure how that’s possible the box looks undamaged and it’s packaged really well with lots of protection, im hoping they can make this right and send me a new one. Anyone on here have any experience like this with vividracing?

I have magnaflow 100cel cats with my current setup. They work a treat. No issues with fitment, and no smells on startup or idle. Only had them in for ~2000km's so I can't comment on their quality, but they look like a good product and they guy who installed them has used them on numerous ~1000hp+ Supra's, and R34/R35 skylines without issue.
