Increase Induction Nosie worth it?

Long time lurker and i didn't see anything on the search function on the forums. Fostersmods sells a universal kit to tube intake noise into the cabin. Of course you can get these parts at homedepot and build it yourself. My questions are:
1. Has any one done something similar and what is your experience?
2. This is not for HP gains but for the tuners out there, do you think this is stupid and can mess something up on later down the road?

From my experience, I really don't hear any intake Nosie since I have headers on the car, The M3 with sounds pretty neato in the video below. This is a cool little mod just to enhance the driving experience of the M156, i think.

Such a dumb thing. It’s one of those things you see and can’t believe people pay money to do to their cars.

Chalk this right up there with the BMW i8 "Active Sound" for the vroom vroom go fast sounds.

Maybe just save the money towards a set of headers...or a new game for your PlayStation?

Good god.

If you want induction noise buy an E46 M3 plus a Karbonius CSL intake. 100% worth it.

Good god.
OP had headers. OP, you have headers. The only worthwhile induction noise after that is a supercharger.

Lmao. Moral of the story: if you want to more induction noise, buy another car with individual throttle bodies.

v8 will never have induction noise louder than the exhaust system if modified...only if one were to keep a quiet factory system, any open intake system not living in an airbox should introduce induction noise naturally.

I had a BMW 435i that had fake engine sounds coming out of the stereo. I think they call it ASD. It can be turned off in the menus

Respectfully but strongly disagree. Not my car but I do own an e46 m3. Induction > SC

shame that the E46 doesn't sound like that from behind...they sound like a honda from behind. amazing from the drivers perspective though!

The play as I think you pointed out is too install a relatively quiet exhaust, euro headers (these are OEM BMW headers but euro market), catted section 1, and rasp eliminators. Let the induction do all the talking because the e46 is never going to win an exhaust war.

Unless you get on it is surprisingly civil which is why it is such a great option over the typical aftermarket exhaust with drone.
