2013 C63 AMG Sedan
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have a 2013 C63 AMG.
1) I've been having some issues with the car not starting using the key. I have replaced the battery and like 50% of the time it will let me get in the car with the key in my pocket but when I press the button it just doesn't do anything.
I have to remove the button and put the key in. Sometimes it starts, sometimes I have to remove the key and put it back in before it recognizes it being there. Is it a faulty key, or is it some kind of a starter module problem?
2) I am looking to replace brakes/rotors as the car is nearly 40k miles now on original parts. Any recommendations for what I should buy?
Thanks!

Does it do the same thing with both keys? When you say replaced the battery - do you mean the car or the key?
I would recommend girodisc rotors as an upgrade or just standard oem brakes. You should check out the local to you shop modern mercedes repair specialists.

Put fresh batteries in both fobs. If you have intermittent issues with only one key, then that one is defective. If you have the same issue with both, then your issue is likely on the car side.
For brakes, I'd personally go with one of the options that FCP Euro recommends for your car. They go from expensive to surprisingly affordable. Choose what works best for your budget. Nothing they sell is junk, so you really cannot go wrong. Plus, everything they sell has a lifetime replacement warranty (yes, even wear items like brakes or motor oil).

Are the brakes worn down? I didn't replaced the rotors on my old C63 until it hit 120k miles.
Your pads are probably still good as well.

Drive harder man. That's the grandpa S65 territory for rotor / brake replacement mileage. Had one with 80k still on original brake pads and not highway mileage.

And if you use manual shifting that can reduce the wear as well, at least on the brakes.
I'll drive harder I'll just start randomly slamming the brakes on the interstate going 80mph.
