What’s wrong here

Taken from A Canadian FB group. Owner stated this is how he received and installed the mid pipes and catless down pipes from VRP.

I lol’d none the less

So the thick washers I used to add clearance for the cross bar was the wrong way to do it?

All that effort to increase exhaust flow, just to smash the tubes in the middle? I used washers on my tunnel brace.

I honestly thought maybe someone maybe did that to make them fit on install but looking at the second pic on their website they do indeed come flattened.

I wouldn't want that, but I do remember that episode of engine masters where they smashed the headers with a sledgehammer and saw little difference in power output. That was on the primaries, and I'm sure post-collector there is a bigger effect.

Carbon steel piping, otherwise known as "The Midas Touch." Mufflers are guaranteed forever, but you buy new pipes every year.

It's there to reinforce the body and reduce chassis flex. Could always put it back on...

I fully understand the reasoning behind it. I just don’t care much for it. There was just no way to keep it with MBH setup and I didn’t feel like adding washers to it. Maybe one of these lazy Sundays I will as I saved all the accessories.

Taking it off is better than smashing the exhaust, would be my point I guess. That just looks, well how it looks.

Edit: Just seen the post showing that this is how they’re made. I thought they were smashed in by the mechanic. nvm….

CKS headers with the front pipes clears the bar, and isn´t flattened(3" diam).
Just a well done bendingjob from the manufacturer does the trick, no spacers needed.
