2000 miles after having my 507 tuned by a well known tuner, it ended up blowing a rod. Will be tearing apart the engine to see complete damage and if anyone wants to purchase a part I’d be more than happy to give price and ship. Not often do you come by a 507 engine that’s parted, if ever.
Off topic, but was this "well known tuner" at all involved in the cause of your engine throwing a rod?
I completely believe so, it was a very aggressive tune that had a lot of issues that weren't fixed. Bought my car in literal perfect condition mechanically and cosmetically. After purchasing the vehicle I drove 1000+ miles to their location, then put another 2000 or so miles in the span of 2 weeks heading back home and making a few stops at major cities. When the vehicle was stock it was amazing, smooth and not a slight sound that sounded abnormal. My average MPG cruising on the highway was around 19-20mpg, once the tune was put on by the shop it dropped to 14-15mpg cruising at same speed and no traffic. After tuning, my start up had an engine rattle, wouldn't shift in some gears properly (shift points seemed off), engine would stutter WOT. It was just all around a horrible experience. I sent an email requesting my stock tune as I was getting nervous something was going to happen, after the engine blew I noticed my email must have not went through. 2 days after "sending" the email, car blew a rod and cracked 2 large holes in my engine block.

Jesus mate. Thats a bum deal. I am very keen to see how the tuner responded to this-if they've been made aware. I am guessing something has been said and has got some wheels turning. Hence the anonymity.

A load of aggressive emails, pinning blame on the m156 engine in general, an offer for a “free dyno tune”. The best part was I found a perfect condition 507 engine with less miles, it ran amazing and had no lifters issue or sound at startup on donor vehicle which the shop verified. Slapped it in and kept the same tune that blew my previous engine, and after a few days of daily driving, it started producing the SAME rattle sound and ran the same way. But it’s not the tune of course. When presented with the issue, there was no remedy besides a response of “nothings wrong with the tune” and offered no revision.
That's an incredibly ****ty situation to be in mate, i truly do sympathise with you. I hope you reach an agreeable situation with the tuner in question, although I have my doubts. I am guessing that it was the version 7 of their tune that caused issues?
For what its worth, and i know its probably the last thing you want to hear right now, but if you ever need a decent tuner. I would whole heartedly reccomend Barry/Hachiroku from Eightysixtuned.

to add, rattling sound as described is massive detonation.
key points to mention, humans are inherently about instant gratification and a dyno sheet is proof something was done when in actuality a "dyno tune" is only completed in full throttle. thus, you are only paying really for a small percentage of the actual tune being modified. sounds possibly like an incorrect tune was provided or "tuner" clearly doesn't know what they're doing.

Already tore pretty much the whole engine apart, just need to get the internals out. I wanted to tear it apart to see it’s true condition inside.
edit: we have the same builder - Francesco De Giuseppe. I was just doing some research on him last night trying to get more info. I saw people mentioning his name on 2008-2014 builds

I had my suspicions it was a certain company providing a 7th version of a tune that may have caused issues with your vehicle. I too had issues with that company, thankfully nothing catastrophic.

No issues but I just added headers and asked for an update to the tune

It just didn’t make sense my engine blowing, the tune file was used on 86 different cars but mine blew. I call BS. The cars maintenance was near perfect, previous owner meticulously maintained it. It even had plastic on the carpet from when dealership sold it

Actually you should fear that guy who has tuned 10,000 cars cause apparently he's ****ing **** up.
This won't provide you any solace but you're providing information for other people to learn from so at least you're saving people from potentially making the same mistake.
Also, the top end looks quite good, apparently that De Giuseppe family has a couple folks there.

Not to cast stones, but i dont think Gintani is any better than Eurocharged to be quite frank. The general forum consensus will be for you to save your money, and ask Barry for an actual tune.
Take it from me, i went through two different "tuners" before going to Barry. I should have approached him the first time and got it done right. Instead, i spent ~$2k AUD on tunes which made my car run like crap. I call that the price of a lesson learnt.
The other thing i like about Barry, is that if you are a customer of his, he will go out of his way to help you out and answer any questions you may have. His customer service is top notch. He doesn't just take your money and go radio silent.
