Cans look similar to others I have seen with that mileage or even better but I would say wear is normal and not concerning. Cam adjuster look like all cam adjuster, you have to look on the inside to see their condition But they all wear about the same and are likely rattling on startup at minimum with those miles but the rattle is just annoying unless they eventually stop locking and then you will get code. So they likely will go longer unless the rattle annoys you enough to fix them.

Camshafts look still in good shape. You could try putting a wrench on the front of the cam and seeing if it wobbles. That's about the only way I know of to test the adjusters without opening them.

its the pin hole inside the adjuster that wears, you kind of have to take them off to view the part that wears. Your cams look fine although you have to view all the lobes so hard to say for sure if you have one bad one then they that cam is shot. And even if all the cams are good, the lifters can be toast but the cams not yet worn so even that isn't a for sure thing that everything is good to go for a while

I may go back and spin it over a few times, have a look at the rest of the lobes. Or I may just push the car into the ocean. Idk.

It's probably fine don't stress it too much everything wears out eventually. But yeah just check them all if they all look good and the lifters done appear collapsed or with excessive wear you are probably good. Or if you have the money while it's open upgrade the adjusters and the lifters

If you look they revised the lifters and cams a few times over the years and I have seen other early cars with less wear than later cars, so it seems revisions did make wear better, if anything maybe worse up to the coated lifters which may actually help.

That was actually the passenger intake. I thought for sure it was drivers side intake. The sound wasn't consistent. It wasn't every cold start, but sometimes I'd hear it on warm starts. It was a nasty sound though. I figured I'd deal with it before it got worse.

Engine noises can be pretty obnoxious to pinpoint, with the way the sound travels.
