C63 Black Series - winter tires...what to use?
I went online to The Tire Rack and they don't have anything for my '12 C63 Black Series for winter tires. What are people on here doing? Recommendations?
Thank you.
Thank you.

2013 C63 AMG P31, 2014 GMC Sierra (6.2)
Far too nice of a vehicle to be driving in those conditions with all the road salt, slush, inexperienced winter drivers etc. Get a second vehicle for the winter and park the Black Series...

As a side note: do you have ppf up front? I got a real beating from a passing salt truck once.

Plus 1 on the PPF. I try to never drive my 507 in the snow, but we get coastal flooding here so when it's time to go, you got to go. I have no choice even in blizzard conditions. I think our front brakes are the same size but I'm not 100% certain about that. What worked for me is I found wheels off a E550 that are 8.5 x18 with a 48ET vs the staggered 19s at 45 & 54ET. I jumped up one click in aspect ratio but kept the same width. (People say you get even better traction with a narrower width). So I have 235/40/18 in the front vs 235/35/19 and I have 255/35/18 in the back vs 255/30/19. I chose Bridgestone Blizzaks and they work great. It can accelerate and stop much harder than you might think. It's actually fun if you are not around people with bald summer tires who can't drive. They look and fit great and the ride is a little softer on bad roads.

Pirelli Sottozero 2, they are available in 255/35/19 and 285/30/19 and are excellent performance winter tires. Not the best in deeper snow, but I am assuming you'll not be using the car for storms, but for cold weather with the occasional icy road or light snow. In freezing temps these feel like summer performance tires.

Available in both 255/30 and 235/35 R19 (if you run standard size tyres):
- Michelin Pilot Alpin 5
- Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D
- Toyo Snowprox S 954
If you are able to fit 245/35 R19 both front and rear you have some more options:- Michelin X-Ice Snow- Yokohama Ice Guard IG60A- Nankang Wintersaf WS-1
I was able to fit 245/45R18 on the OEM C63 wheels with 8" and 9" width, I'll go for the: Continental Viking Contact 7 this year if I decide to run it in the winter.

Ah... I was thinking they might have bigger calipers. At the end of the day, those are probably all excellent choices along with the Pirelli. I'm partial to Blizzaks because I've had great luck with them on 7-8 cars, but I ran the Dunlop Winter Sports on my M3 and thought they were great.

I've been very happy with my Michelin Pilot Alpin 5.
I'm northeast with more cold and light snow or plowed streets. Deep snow would just be a no with your car anyway.
