Spoon Ridgid Collar Front Install Issues & Small Ultra Racing Bars

As above was getting all my suspension parts fitted today, Installed the spoon ridgid collars on the rear fine but then came to the fronts and the collars they have sent the internal hole is too small! Pretty annoyed as it means I will have to come back and pay for another geo/alignment.

Do you think they have supplied me the wrong size or for some reason on late model w204 c63’s mine being 2013 they made the subframe bolt bigger?. The reason I think it could be this is the small little ultra racing bars below the bottom bolt closest to the engine has the same issue being too small for the subframe bolt to pass through (at least with this I can use a drill to enlarge the hole) but I cannot do that with the little ridgid collar washers being thin and flimsy.

Anyone else had this issue with ridgid collars or the front small ultra racing pieces?

i know when i reached out to Ultra Racing for W211 parts they mentioned, they cannot confirm any of the items fit cross platform and recommended me not to purchase.

That’s weird. Encountered zero problems installing my Rigid Collars and Ultra bars on my 12 Coupe. The sets are specific to the C63.

I have a spare set of Rigid Collars tucked away here somewhere just in case. I’ll try to track them down and can take pics or something if it helps.

Not sure, but I just wanted to show the bolt location and with the ultra racing bars so it was easy to explain. Mine is a 2013 C63 though.

The ultra racing bars I have are for the w204 c63 but them small white ones need the subframe bolt drilling out more and the front ridgid collars are too small for the bolt to pass through. Ive circled below which bolt is too large for both the front ridgid collar and ultra racing bars.

I know, I even looked back at all your posts and others to see if there was any issues.

The suspension place that did all the work are very well known, one of the best in the UK and do alot of supercars, track cars and great fast road cars.

The rear ridgid collars fitted fine but the bolt doesn’t pass through the fronts, he said the internal diameter of the spoon ridgid front collars is 13.7mm. Do you know what size head your front subframe bolts are? Or could you find out please by putting a socket on the bolt?

Also had another issue that rear underbody ultra racing brace that ties the subframe together doesn’t fit my car for the same reason as yours (the shape of the subframe bush), What is more strange is mine is a saloon which only previously it seemed was a coupe issue. I remember someone in your old post saying it fitted their saloon but think it may have been pre facelift, Maybe Mercedes changed the rear subframe bush design on late model facelift cars? Mine is a 2013 & maybe yours is late 2012?

Also thanks any pictures or measurements would help alot.

New spare front subframe bolt from Mercedes, as shown front Ridgid Collars too small.

I have sorted the ultra racing bars, as I drilled the hole larger on the two smaller bars where the front subframe bolt goes. The rear bar I decided to shave a small amount of the two tabs inside the rear subframe bush (they have nothing going into the hole so must be for a locating tool to pull the subframe bushes out) The small amount I shaved off has not effected the tabs on the subframe bush.

The front ridgid collars Spoon has got back to me with the below. Surely doing this will damage the threads on the subframe bolts and also the internal threads on the car that the subframe bolt goes into? They have said the collars for the Mercedes are triangular so remove the thread lock off the subframe bolt and hammer them in!! The rears didn’t need this at all.

Lastly does any have pictures of their large front underbody Ultra Racing brace that crosses over? Id like to see which undertrays you had to trim or remove completely after the install.

The Last undertray will need cut a bit that covers tranny area. The 2 side undertrays that go along rocker panel will need a slight cut on the folding seem as well. I'll upload a couple pics as soon as I can.
AS you can see i have my rear tray off in the pic but I had to cut just a smidge more where my header cuts out was anyway, the rest will be snug but you can bolt it right over it really with no issue.

Thanks, My original installer did not fit back them small triangular side pieces on the very ends of the bar fixing points so you can see the floor which looks odd.

In the end I managed to get both side undertrays fitted over the bars without any trimming, the middle trans cover fitted back on with just the side circular parts around the cats cut.

Can any help with fitting the Spoon Ridgid Collar front set for these, as the subframe has to be dropped did you have to use an engine hoist to support it from the engine bay?

My installer only works on BMW’s but is willing to do the job but seems to think because you have to drop the subframe to fit the upper collars it needs an engine hoist to support from the engine bay.
