09 C63
Hey all,
finally broke down & jumped into a forum. Own an 09 C63 with 95k miles. The only issues iv had so far is the PCV valve & broken hood latch. The head bolts haven't been done yet but might consider. No issues with coolant yet or oil mix yet !

Iv had the car a few years now. Not my daily! & i just follow Mercedes recommended service rotations. Recommend oil & thats it. I keep hearing “not if, but when the head bolts break” without removing the covers how else can i tell?? I usually check for oil in the coolant or under the cap & then during changes no mix yet. I know every car is affected but why does everyone of them have to fail?! Other than that! I love the car!

when a head bolt fails you'd be lucky to only have minimal coolant and oil mixture. many see coolant flood the combustion chambers and cause the engine to stall out. only then, when the owner attempts to restart the engine, the starter bends the connecting rods as the combustion chambers are filled with coolant.
remove the valve covers to inspect if the head bolts have been done before. if not plan to have them done at some time if you plan to keep your car for a good while.
also, don't listen to what internet experts think they know about failures and claim it doesn't happen because it hasn't happened to them. I've met quite a few owners in person who are not online who have had failures.

I had no symptoms until about 100k miles. I did them the second my coolant gave the first warning.
I did the cam adjusters shortly after after a misfire code.
That being said, I don't really drive this much anymore even though it looks and works great and may sell soon, but I just can't let her go. I don't commute anymore and have a track car for fun.
