C63 oem black series build

Hey everyone, I am thinking about doing
my second oem black series build. I found my passion to build cars and why not build my dream car for someone else to enjoy. I want people’s honest opinions about buying this car. This car will be for someone who loves the black series body style such as I do and to drive the hell out of it and have fun. This car will not be a hardcore collector who doesn’t drive and just sits in garage. If you are one this car isn’t for you. Also this car will not have any black series badges on it due to respect to the oem factory ones, So save the negative comments. My plan to do this is I got a 2012 c63 with 93k miles and I will be working with Willson Motorworks - Emerson, NJ doing a whole engine rebuild And other components as needed. I want to make this car as new as possible. If you are serious about this you will be able to fully customize the interior and exterior color of your choice. This build will cost me a lot of money and time and I will have everything documented. I hope someone can really appreciate what I’m doing. This car is impeccable to me!!!.

If you are serious please email dross234dale@aol.com
serious acquires only

Very cool take at an angle of a resto-mod, if this is a "hobby" for you, much kudos; but if you're expecting a profit (or at last, break-even) from doing this, definitely manage expectations.

C63BS isn't a halo car that those that has one don't drive it as much as they can, and I will break this down into two parts:

1.) Halo car is a vague-term, but what I meant here is, that the original version from the factory isn't like a, lets say, the original Gullwing 300SL, on many different criteria but the most important one here, on a "money-factor". Because the original is still very affordable, and that alone isn't leaving room/margin for a properly built replica (a "complete-car" per-se) to demand a legitimate price.

2.) Well driven BS are out there, that won't demand a premium, in fact, very affordable; I've recently met an owner whom bought a C63BS w/ more than 95k miles just two years ago, and currently exceeding 150k miles, thoroughly enjoyed. So don't assume those with the real deal don't enjoy it.

The platform is aging, yet the resale value has not caught on to a point where there's enough margin for it to be a product of a coach-built biz.

Even using OEM exterior parts, we know damn well this isn't going to be built with the same fit-and-finish like the real deal in terms of labor, and since it's already on a high-mileage platform, what is going to persuade a prospect not to just buy the real deal w/ high miles?

The invoice, while I think you're getting pretty good discounts (or maybe things like the authentic carbon canards & carbon wings from the B26 aero options aren't even listed?), it is also missing so much more than just aesthetic OEM parts, such as the the rear half of the suspension/drivetrain that AMG took from an E63 to throw onto the C63BS, etc.

Looking like one & driving like one are two different things...

But maybe i'm not reading this right, so do elaborate more, on one specific detail - what is your pricing structure on the finished result?

yes it is nice. You can’t tell it’s not a black series from the outside. Only underneath. Also it not meant to be a black series. I just wanted the body of it. I seen black series cars and regular c63 with bad bad panels gaps. Especially around headlight area

just calling it as-is, and it's nothing personal, go ahead can quote me on this- no aftermarket build has the same fit-and-finish quality as OEM.

have you even toured the AMG factory in Affalterbach?

personally, for someone that has dabbled in the automotive aftermarket industry for over a decade, 50+ builds to SEMA (from personal builds to aftermarket & OEM booth builds), it was quite a humbling experience to do that factory tour and understand why aftermarket will always be playing catching-up in terms of built-quality/fit-and-finish.

but go ahead and ignore all that, it's nice of you to avoid the rest of my previous questions on the technical sides, what a great service you are providing for the community, g'luck.

anyone that has done due diligence can tell, even from the outside, that it is NOT a BS; those cheap mode carbon parts were made to actually look different than the original BS aero pieces.

example:

just like duuder, got the real deal myself, and it's really not hard to tell what's fake vs real; as for the panel gaps, you've got some questionable gaps behind the headlights between the fender and the hood, as well as the gap between the doors and rear quarters.

if you improve on all of those and correct these shortcuts for compensating over using cheap replica parts in detail, then I'd say there's some good effort to look forward to; otherwise, why even use the OEM bumper cores if you can't back that up with going top-quality OEM on the B26 carbon pieces? no wonder the numbers from your invoice copy looks to be so low.

i apologize for completely having the wrong expectation of a true coach-build, was really looking forward to see something unique & top-notch execution, the previous example unfortunately is quite short of that; again, best of luck, and looking forward to see the improvements.

perhaps it's the misleading title of this entire post, the result from your previous example and the itemized invoice is very short of what made the BS, a BS; we now learn that your "package" is an attempt only on the look and not to make it to drive like one, as it does not include the important chassis components.

This thread is dead. I’m going to build and enjoy myself AGAIN

You all go do something positive. So don’t waste your time typing another reply to this thread because I will not look or respond. So you heard this. You will be talking and replying to yourself. If that’s what you want to do be my guess. Iv got real life things to do then argue over panel gaps that can be adjusted to robots I don’t know over the internet. I know this will be hard for some of you to not respond. Maybe you’re missing something in your life. Only you could figure that out. So let’s be grown and keep it moving.

take care fellas!!
