Hey you guys i need help so i deleted both my catts on my car i got ptg’s tuneso theres no codes popping up. So a year after that i went to do my emissions test and i ended up getting rejected. I messaged ptg and they said they basically tune it so the car wont throw codes because of the catt delete. I wanted to see if anyone knows a tuner that will bypass it that way i can pass emissions test with no problem.

I doubt it's possible via a tune.
Most people put the cats back for yearly checks then remove again
Or bribe the tester

thank you guys i was just wondering if there was something other there that might bypass this because my brother and his friend got camaros and they was making fun of my car and my tuner. They was just saying that they are “able” to pass it that my tuner sucks i was just wondering maybe someone was able to do it. But thanks you guys

They sound like typical Camaro owners. There is no bypass for cats that also passes emissions for anything, domestic or German. They're dumb. 😁

False. HP Tuners will let you set cat codes to “No Error Reported”, allowing them to show as “Ready” during a monitor scan. Not that I would do that of course, just pointing out that it absolutely can and is done in the Camaro community.

did you fail due to emmissions? i would think you failed due to visual check. you need to get oems to swap for smog checks then swap back.

There are certain people that can make them show readiness or system not present and it will pass. These statements aren't accurate. however should not be discussed on public forums.

Do they not use exhaust sniffers anymore because without cats, I don't see these passing that? 🤷‍♂️

Most of the “tougher” inspection states don’t use a sniffer. They plug into the ALDL port and scan the system for component “readiness”. You generally have 7-9 systems that need to be “ready” which means the computer thinks they’re functioning correctly. You’re usually allowed to have one system “not ready” and still pass. So systems like evap, o2 preheat, o2/cat performance, secondary air injection, etc are the types of systems scanned in this readiness test. California has taken it a step further and can supposedly scan for changes in your tune… glad I don’t live there lol.
