2013 P31 not as loud anymore!! Help
Hi, I’ve noticed that my C63 isn’t as loud as it used to be. When I used to start it up and while driving the “amg grunt” was significantly louder. Over time the cold start is quieter it doesn’t sound as loud and doesn’t really have the pops it used to. It’s higher mileage is my engine going ??? Any advice would be appreciated

Does it still run strong? Does it have a tune? What is the higher mileage?

same thing has been happening to me, what temp is it outside--- because i think maybe high heat can cause it to have quieter cold start--- winter time its earth shattering for me---- I dont have much data on what im saying this just a theory lol

That's exactly what it is if there's nothing wrong mechanically. The EFI dumps more fuel in the Winter for cold starts especially. It makes these engines crack and pop like no other.

Temp outside going up... "Cold" start... If the temps don't get cold it wont cold start.
Car is fine. Wait for a cooler night and then start the next day. It'll pop.

Yeah I was told it doesn't help, and it is actually louder on the closed side vs oem c63 . I really want a solution to it because the car is perfect for me sound wise but this bark is ridiculously loud (LTH Catless to resonator oem muffer). I may have to add 200 cell cats just for the cold start bark, and the smell too but mostly the cold start. Hopefully somebody down the road finds a way to remove the bark at startup. I could try some American valved catback, my z06 handled this perfectly, closed valve lth catless, u heard nothing at startup. I think the issue here is when you been around other platforms and you know how good some valved mufflers are, you begin to complain about the c63 not having a proper solution for this problem. And yeah alot of these owners dont mind it, but when my nieghbors pay 20,000$ in taxes, i feel bad to ruin their morning. I literally start my car in my garage with the doors closed bc i dont want to ruin their peace. Im sure many can relate to this issue, and its sad bc once i begin to drive, car is very livable sound wise, its only loud when i get on it

Yeah I deal with the same issue, i may have to add them as well. Did it clean up the rasp a little? maybe secondary cats would help the oem ones for sound
