Does this annoy anyone else???

I have MAJOR O.C.D. and Mercedes is stressing me out! I don't understand why they would do this to me Why would they put the AMG badging on the left side and the C63 badging on the right?! Typing this and looking at pictures of this, otherwise, beautiful car is starting to give me an anxiety attack LOL. I am probably going to order this car but when it comes in I don't want to see it until my dealer switches the badging to where they have always been!

Good thing you're not in the market for the new S63 Coupe, don't look at its rear photos or you'll end up in hospital...
**EDIT, just saw your signature that you have a S63 Coupe on order. Wondering what will happen to you. Stay safe my friend.

Now all jokes aside, I actually love the switch. Mercedes-Benz has started to drop the Benz name from ALL future AMG models, and their marketing has changed.

AMG is now a much more known brand and switch from C63 - AMG (C63 by AMG) to AMG - C63 (AMG as brand, C63 as the model) makes perfect sense to me.

I like the new change, but I'm probably going to debadge mine just like all my other cars.

I dont mind the Switch from Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to Mercedes-AMG C63.
But I dont think they had to switch the badges.

that's the all new badging for 2015 and up
Per Mercedes and AMG
all AMG models with Drop the "Mercedes Badging"
it will be referred to the AMG C63, AMG CLS 63 etc

the few things the bug me the most about the 2015 AMG C63

“The best knows no alternative” is Mercedes-Benz C-Class marketing tagline

the Command Screen.... HORRIFIC looks like a afterthought. Why couldn't they find a design that would integrate it into the dash like all the previous generation C63's ... I am very disappointed that with all the engineers and design experts at Mercedes. That's the best they could do considering all the technological upgrades that went into producing this car compared to the previous Generations I would expect a Interior that would look exceptional/functional and unique rather than a recycled CLA design in the NEW 2015 C63. You know the saying one man one engine, well maybe it's one man one interior designer his way or the highway.. lol it's right out of the CLA45 AMG design book.... cheap chinese stuff look at the Chinese parts Tag on the speedo. The 2008-2014 C63 Gauge Cluster and Command Center....looks way more aesthetically pleasing then the new 2015 design.. It's just not right to get into a $60k plus options $80-90k C63 to have the same feel and look as a Entry level CLA base model..
2015 AMG C63 Instrument Cluster and Command Center/Center Console

2014 CLA 250-45<br/>Can you tell the Difference. Except for the long center console in the AMG C63 it is Identical...

2014 CLA Gauge Cluster

2015 AMG C63 Gauge Cluster Compared to the CLA... Basically a piece of paper that is back lit by a few light bulbs like in the early 70's, 80's (you get my point) cheap Chinese part# tag on the Speedo..

2014 Mercedes C63 AMG Gauge Cluster... much more aesthetically pleasing...

Not sure what bothers me the most: the elimination of the Slap Stick Shifter or both equally....Column shifter same as my Grandfathers 1971 Chevy... LOL Eliminating the Slap Stick shifter takes away from the Driver Experience. Some times you just do not feel like using the Paddle Shifters and would rather rest your elbow and forearm on the center console slap the stick...

I'll look for the article and post up the link.... I think it was a Euro Mag, but then again it could have been Car & Driver...

Mr. Miami,

I just saw the list of your stable and that's a lot of cars. I am extremely curious so, can we play what part of unincorporated part of Miami Dade you are near/in?

first let's get these out of the way first not: Hialeah, Medley, SweetWater, Calle Ocho.

Possible, Pine Crest, Plum Island, maybe Kendall but most likely not, Coral Gables, Not the Doral most you can park there is 4 cars. HOA is very strict, Millionaires Row right across from where RCCL docks their boats? Brickell but with all the condos can see where you would park them all, Biscayne Bay over the Causeway... A long shot would be Homestead, because of all the land you can build on, but it's too far away from the Beach and downtown. I can't imagine having to drive on the Palmetto or Turn Pike with all that traffic...

It's in the press release. Instead of:

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

It's now:

Mercedes-AMG C63

@jarjoug: You are correct about just dropping the Benz According to rage2

I thought they only dropped the "Benz" from it.

I prefer the old nomenclature/badging, but what do I know? I think the new car should called be the C40 AMG...

Yes it annoys me, not quite in the market though hehe.

But if I was to purchase a new c63 my first mod would probably be to swap the badge locations

Just my 2 cents on this topic as IMHO it's a little OTT being so worried about the tailgate badging but it actually makes sense as also mentioned by some above that the company logo comes first and then the model designation, I'm sure the people will get more than used to it in time

Personally I'm more at unease with things like the deletion of the centre console shifter than reverse badging order changes

I am glad they got rid of that thing... it was an eye sore!
I have seen the C class with a manual transmission and it ruins the center stack.
However, I would have preferred something better than a column shifter in an AMG.

The manual shift stick and regular auto stick are not exactly beautiful but certainly or surely more appealing than a column shifter though, but the nice compact AMG centre console shifters are both beautiful and located in the right place IMHO

It is disappointing that certain AMG models retain it and others don't, I suppose this says a lot in terms of 'bespoke' or lack there of in dedicated AMG variants, but anyhow it's just my opinion on one aspect of this new model I wouldn't not acquire it based solely on that part of it the new 205 series as a whole is an impressive vehicle

Don't ever drive a Ferrari or Lambo then. Paddles only.

lol I assume that there's tons of AMG fans out there that are against the badge switch. It's such a stupid thing, but yes, this bugs me too!

500lbs?!

How the hell would they make it weight 3,115 lbs? There is no possible way.

C63 weighs 3,615 lbs, compared with M3 which is listed at 3,595 lbs on bmw site.

Current C63 real world curb weight is 3,900+ lbs, the new C63 shaves 30 lbs off.

You know what I am thinking... maybe Mercedes had the Pre-Debut Yesterday to get feedback from all of the fans/potential buyers and try to fix some or all of the negative things that have been discussed on all the Forums. Since the Car has not been officially launched yet, they might not have set up the production line and can tweak a few things for us... like Change out the Gauge Cluster/Integrate the Command Center Screen into the dash/put the center console shifter back...

They've spent years developing this car. I'd say there is a 0% chance anything major would change at this point. I bet they are already working on the mid cycle refresh!

@bmoney,

Point well taken... however you have to give me at least a tenth of a percent that they will change a few things before the hit the showrooms
