How old are you? I just finished reading your thread, and I don't understand how you give yourself permission to call the person that got you the car an 'idiot'. Hope he doesn't sign for the C63, you need to learn some respect. What happened to Respect? Do parents not teach it these days?

19, and I bought the car. Also at the time I was quite pissed off since I was returning home after having surgery so I was in extreme pain. So when I was driven home in the 45 AMG (with the harsher performance suspension) it greatly increased the amount of pain I was feeling. All of that could have been avoided if he actually came to pick me up in his car which has a smoother suspension, and far more comfortable ride.

 

My parents did and I did to my kids ( but others will be the true judge)

Thanks. I was offered a 2015 CLA 45 at first, but managed to get the dealership to instead order the C63 with very little loss.

You appear to have 25k in the cla ( down payment + payments to date)
You ordered it and probably paid msrp
They will give you 20k credit against msrp on a new c63 ( they will not negotiate the price )
They will cpo the cla and sell it quickly at a premium since they are scarce

MB is making out like a bandit
Profit on the cla on the initial sale
Keeping a portion of what you already paid
Making good profit on the resale of the cpo cla
Making good profit on the msrp new c63
And interest

Any normal 17 yr old (he said he got it at 17) would be so grateful and happy to have that car, even with the percieved and real issues
Most woulcn't 'find' so may issues though
They would just get it fixed and enjoy it

Toss in the supposed serious health issues and their perspective would be "it's only a car" and not agonize over it, no issues compared to ill health
Least of a normal persons worries

You know why most normal people can't afford such a nice car? Because they have to pay for other things like Bills, College classes, Food. At the age of 19, you're not given a job that pays your six figures that lets you be able to afford a car of this caliber. Stop trying to fool yourself. If your mom and dad are paying for all your other expenses, a car is NOT something you should be investing in. So please, tell me what you do.

The kicker? He did't give his father permission to drive his car. The man who raised you and is paying for you to live underneath his roof needs permission to drive the car he signed for?

I agree. It's good to have someone call you out. I thought I was smart at 19, but man was I wrong. He's young, and as he matures, he'll change. Well, at least I hope he does.

It is the parents fault at times
They convince their kids that they are special, unique and better than others
'Winners' and never ever told they lost at anything
Their hieny is special and doesn't stink lol

Makes the parents feel better too, they did a wonderful job, look at my perfect kid lol

Not sure why people are afraid of their shortcomings and faults and fail to address them
What happened to introspection and discipline
Perfecting ones mind, body & soul
