You might own a C63S if you take a stop light romp with loud button on..... then scan your 6 looking for the MAN...... then saunter off like nothing happened.

I haven't had this feeling since my offroad X-pipe 5.0 days....... once a hoon always a hoon.

Does anyone know if the Canadian C63S (not ed1) comes with perf exhaust system standard? I don't see an option for it.

It always starts in the closed position and you have to change the mode or push the button for the exhaust to open.

just curious, is there a way to start it in the open mode for the stock/performance exhaust ? 😆

How about for aftermarket exhaust that uses their own remote like AWE, Amytrix, etc ? Can those allow us to start the car with the valves open ?

If it works at all like the C450, you hit the button 3x or turn the key over to "on" without your foot on the brake. Then select the mode you want, then depress brake pedal and start the motor.

This is how I can get the exhaust burble on startup in our car even after it was last driven in comfort mode. I am guessing that if the dynamic modes can be activated this way then the AMG exhaust option should be similarly activated. However, I don't have that option on my car so this is just a guess until someone with the option confirms.

The way I usually do it is to program the dynamic switch to how I like to drive (S+ on engine and trans -loud on exhaust-drive) in the "I" mode and hit the button twice NOT 3 times with foot off brake then push dynamic switch up once and start with foot on brake. It sounds Just great. Almost always do this. Love it.

Guys, it's really easy. I've programmed my "I" setting with the valves open, and I just flick the switch to "I" as soon as I turn the car on. In between pressing the engine on button and the engine actually starting, the car switches from "C" to "I" and the car roars awake with the valves open. No need to start the car in accessory to switch over, before starting the engine.

Wow, seems like everyone's neighbour is going to start hating me for opening a can of worms. Hahah

Just to be sure, the dynamic switch opens the valves at the mid pipes right ? So regardless of standard or performance exhaust, there is already a valve and its closed in comfort and opened in sports+.

As for the exhaust button, its only for those who have the performance exhaust and it opens the valves at the muffler to bypass the mufflers.

Is that correct ?

some things not mentioned.

the exhaust gets louder and louder as you move the settings towards race mode on the c63s.

Additionally it backfires and gets real angry and aggressive as you go through the modes towards Race mode.

One really big note. if you are in I WANT TO BE HEARD mode when you come to a stoplight...while holding the brake pedal or using the brake/hold setting the flaps close and make your beast tame again. Then when you let off the brake prepare for a delightful sound.

The performance exhaust is what sold me on the spot for this car. I drove a lot of cars before this one and once i drove and heard it i threw down my dollah bills.

Test drove a C63S last night, and the active exhaust is pure sex It has an amazing rumble and burble on idle. It's deep, but not annoyingly loud. It's loud enough with the windows up that I thought someone had pulled up behind me in a Harley. Looked in the rear view mirror and all around looking for this Harley biker.... and there was no one around except me

This option sounds great on the C43 Coupe. It sounds absolutely out of this world on the C63 or C63S...all based on early videos, of course.

If only they made the 63 in 4MATIC for us with bad winters...

flap open or closed

#AMG-Eric: How the exhaust becomes more louder when moving towards race? I though it is binary - flap open or closed. It is gradual then?
In sport+ the iddle is a bit higher and up-gear change later - apart of that?
