2016 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe spied for the first time(Updated 5/5/2015)
The 2016 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe has been spied for the first time.
Caught undergoing testing near the Nürburgring, the high-performance model is distinguished by a more aggressive front fascia new front fascia with mesh grille inserts. Additional changes are limited but we can see high-performance brakes and a new rear bumper with a four tailpipe sports exhaust system.
Like the C63 AMG sedan, the coupe will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops 469 bhp (349 kW) and 479 lb-ft (648 Nm) of torque. It will be connected to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission which should enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately four seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h).
We can also expect a high-performance S variant with an upgraded engine that produces 503 bhp (375 kW) and 516 lb-ft (698 Nm) of torque. It should enable the model to run from 0-60 mph in roughly 3.9 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 180 mph (289 km/h).

So excited to finally see the coupe testing! Looks like the rear fenders are way beefier than the sedan as well. Can't wait to see this thing when it's (hopefully) unveiled in September!

I asked the wife if we could take the equity from the house. Long story short, I'm still scheduled to get my C63S and I'm still married.

Haha LOL I think that's a common occurrence between couples when a car of your dreams comes along and you'll do just about anything to get one
Haven't yet seen a S Class coupe in real life, but from pics and vids it has got to be one of if not the best looking MB so far and we know the new C coupe will be very similar, I really really hope those test mule pics above are the new C205 coupe and not a BS mule being tested because it is usually or up until now only the BS variant that gets big fenders front and rear.
If it is the new C205 I believe MB have adopted that approach to better compete with the new BMW 4 series and all the better for it

That's what all of us interested in the C205 are hoping for
But remember that W205 C63 sedan mule with wide fenders doing the rounds before the final product was released, what a let down that was hopefully the coupe doesn't go down the same way.

It would make sense that the C63 coupe has wider fenders since it will eventually need to accommodate the black series coupe widebody.

I originally planned on getting the saloon, but decided to hold out for the coupe.
Looks like I made a wise decision; it's shaping up to look awesome.
Lovin' the wide stance!

Just looked at the high res pics on autoblog and it's running 285 in the back.

These fenders and significantly wider rear tires seals the deal for me over the sedan.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Though, it's nice to see MBZ testing 285's. The car certainly needs them. We were fooled when the sedan was testing with wider fenders during the last set of spy photos. Fingers crossed.
P.S. Why doesn't MBZ put on Michelin rubber? Conti's suck.
