Hi all,
new member, and first time poster here. I'm going to be trading in my 2014 Shelby GT500 on a 2015 C63 AMG 507 on Monday, and I can't wait. I've read lots of the commentary about the C63 on these forums and for the most part people seem to love them.
From my end, I was wondering if anyone here went from the type of car I currently have to the C63, and if you were disappointed in any way with the power? My Shelby currently has full bolts on's (smaller pulley, larger throttle body, CAI and tune) so shes putting out about 770hp at the crank I've been told. It feels it too because it has zero traction in first and second and only minimal in third. I describe it to my friends as the slowest fast car Ive ever owned simply because of the traction issues.
Having said all that, I have grown kinda attached to her, but have to say after having sat in a new C63, they are not on the same level as far as fit and finish and material quality.
I also noticed some people here have said that the C63 responds well to tuning..what kind of upgrades have people gotten and what would you recommend? Thanks for any and all responses. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Wrong sub-forum lol. Post in the W204 section. Congrats though. Why didn't you go with a gt350?
Thanks, I'll try to move the post over there (not sure how lol). I had a BMW 335xi before the Shelby, and although I really enjoyed it the Shelby, I realized I do prefer the German sports cars like the BMW and now, hopefully, Mercedes. The interior appointments and attention to detail is like I said, just another level, and the general feel of the car on the road also contributed to my switching back. The Shelby is a rocket (albeit almost uncontrollable), and was infinitely faster than my Bimmer...but the Bimmer put more of a smile on my face every time I drove it. I never felt it was secretly plotting to kill me like the Shelby.

I'm just interested in tunes at this point. Perhaps after some time and experience with the car I'll be looking into something mechanical.

I think you mean W205, yes I agree but it's a personal opinion Originally Posted by ATT

Can't wait for the wraps to come off the new C205 C63, if it gets those fender flares we've seen on that test mule, it's going to be a drop dead gorgeous car Originally Posted by Will617

Ha, that goes for just about any non-IRS Mustang until you do control arms and a Panhard bar at least. Before that mod, used to dial back steering in mid-corner when I saw a bump in the road to lessen that rear-steer effect Originally Posted by ameshal

.The Mustang will always make you work harder than the C63 -- one of the reasons I still keep the '96 around. That said, there's still plenty to learn from the Benz even though it is easier to drive and looks better on the inside
