It begins - 2015 F80 M3 versus stock 2015 W205 C63 AMG S roll on highway race

The battle we have been waiting for is officially underway. Owners are getting their hands on the new C63 and fortunately one such owner was willing to go up against an F80 M3 on the highway to settle which car is quicker in stock form. It is not as simple as looking at the stock output to determine this race.

On paper, the C63 AMG S M177 V8 has the advantage with its 503 horsepower rating. That said, the car is heavy coming in at roughly 400 pounds more than the F80 M3. It also does not have the F80 M3 and F82 M4 dual clutch transmission but the Mercedes MCT is a top of the line automatic gearbox offering quick gearshifts.

The M3 is lighter, has a DCT, and also is severely underrated in its output showing 427 horsepower at the wheels and 429 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. The C63 AMG S on the other hand shows 467 horsepower stock and 489 lb-ft of torque stock to the wheels.

The C63 AMG S takes this race easily. It does have the inside track which plays a factor. The M3 does have a JB4 tune and downpipes but was run in Map 0 making this essentially a stock on stock race.

The standard C63 AMG and the M3/M4 should be almost even. The S gives AMG the edge much like the P31 package did for the previous generation W204 C63 AMG.

The first round goes to Mercedes.

Again from GER-BOOST: Here is another video with the m3 on map 2 which is the more aggressive map for pump and downpipes. It also gets the hit here but the stock c63s still runs it down and looks to start pulling nice uptop again before letting off.

There is a whole lot going on in the second video. Seems as though the AMG jumped a little early, lifted off gas, then hit it again?

We sold our new M3 to buy the C63s

Our M3 had our down pipes and tune, and put down less hp on our dyno then our stock C63s

I'm glad I can share. The new M3/M4 are sweet machines, but the C63 is a real beast in stock guise! IMO it sounds more raucous than the W204 6.2 V8 and it is incredibly tunable. If the TT 4.0 V8 responds any close to the Audi's TT 4.0 V8 than this car is gone to pose all kinds of problems for cars with more factory rated horsepower and niche brands. As an enthusiast I am looking forward to seeing this car out on the road!

I spend a lot of time over there and I can tell you this new C63S is hated like no other car. The RC-F and ATS-V are discussed but never considered a threat to the M kingdom. This car -- as seen in these videos -- goes beyond presenting a real threat.

I was at the MB dealership tonight deciding between a 2015 c63 507 coupe VS a 2016 C63S...... I was on the fence until I call Eurocharged for their exper opinion since they have driven and dyno'd both........ big thx to Jason and the guys.... I have a 2016 C63S in my garage now! Oh my what a beast.

On the way home I had a guy in a mod-out nissan gtr with "godzilla" on the pers lic plate hit me with max brapp and high -5. Loving the sounds this c63S makes..... I'm in heaven.

Yeah.. a guy ordered a C63S anthricite Grey, cf trim, load out and backed out at it arrived..... ...... I walked in and saw it monday after work......... could not get the sound of the ex out of my mind.... actually came in today intending to buy a 2015 507 ed mars red...... but switched to the new platform at the last minute. Wife has a 2014 white C63.... so best of both worlds.

Can't wait for break-in miles to run by.... then hammer time.

Big thx to Jerry's guys..... doesn't get better than real-dyno experience to aid my decision.

Did I mention the exhaust tone is TO DIE FOR! OOOOOOF. sounds very similar to the GTS we got to drive at amg academy @ COTA........ of course it's not a GTS.... but sounds very sim.

They moved the camera to the rear so its pointed way out in front of the AMG. Otherwise, wouldn't the cars be even? I think Map 2 was active.
