have posted pics in a new thread for those interested.

Im with you Dr. C... C63S is a big jump up from the A45 in terms of fit and finish. very happy with it and delighted that the perf. exhaust flap stays on/open (unlike the A45 which defaults to eco/comfort). Wumpy - you're going to love it.

Hey Wumpyr. You'll be glad to know after 2 weeks driving, there's no rattles or creaks like the A45. Car feels way more solid.

My subtotal was $1000 more than yours BEFORE registration and stamp duty. Hope that helps people.

it has nothing to do with being upset, the amount of money i lose on depreciation yearly on cars will more than pay for a new one, the point being is that people make claims all the time, and more often than not that is exactly what they are.

You also claimed that your price was excluding stamp duty and now excluding Rego, thats easily another $10k on top of your price.

on that basis please post the full page to show the breakdown of the price other than the personal details, this would help others who may still be in the market for one, it would give them something to aim for.

Thanks

Bit more space. The interior is far superior to the A45. Very nice to be in. We haven't lost much room in the front passenger side with back baby seat in reverse.

The sound of the car and exhaust is intoxicating (sounds the same as the 6.3 imho). Drives really well and the dynamic select is great to use and very functional.

It's fast!

HUD is fun.

360 degree camera is fun and very useful.

Steering assist isn't that fun to use imho. Novel at first, but not as smooth and when you want to take over it fights you.

Freeway driving 115km/hr, gives 9-9.5L/100m so very efficient.

It's the wife's daily driver (mines the A45), so I don't drive it often unfortunately.
The car is beautiful.
I'm just curious what color are those calipers? are they red like all the other amgs or are they dark red?

Mmmm excellent. Can't wait mate. My expectations are extremely high. I could have the car so much earlier but I want Diamond White so I have to wait for the manufacturing slot.

Good to know!! I had so many problems with the A45 rattles it was like a second job.

I have had some W205 loan cars and they were rattle free too which was one of the reasons that influenced the decision - a high(er) quality finish.

Even basic things like Nappa leather vs MB TEX artico/man made leather - so much difference.

I'm still sceptical of the star trek touchpad they put in and I will miss the COMAND keypad for sure...

You will get used to the interface pretty fast. The centre dial is similar to the A45. But once you play with the mouse touch pad lot, it becomes just as easy to use. All the buttons are in different places including on the steering wheel, but as always it gets easier the more you use it.

I still haven't got used to the gear shifter on the steering wheel column. Since I still drive the A45, I habitually reach down with the left had to select gearing.

Red like other AMGs (well like my A45). Haven't seen other AMGs to compare.

Heya Fellows,

Quick question on the Aus spec models, Can you order the AMG performance seats without opting for the Edition 1 pack ? If so how much extra are the performance seats ?

Thanks in advance

Unless I'm wrong, the C63S comes standard with the AMG performance seats. The seats on the edition 1, are a quilted red stitched base performance seat exclusive to all Edition 1 AMGs.

You can option the Sports seats which are softer and has an adjustable head rests, just not as bolstered.

Hope that helps.

C63s amg Edition 1
The AMG performance seats are standard on all Aussie spec cars. The only difference with the Edition 1 is the black and red quilting. You can, however, deselect it and opt for the more basic sports seats.

Interesting "option". Does it lower the price?

2012 C63
I've added a few pictures from the Bathurst event.

Unfortunately, the weather hasn't been playing nice. There was a little bit of "dry" lapping in the afternoon I was there (Thu) but it was wet most of the time. Nice selection of cars to sample. I think there was roughly $12M worth of cars there. I found Bathurst to be a very intimidating track. There's not much margin for error.

The new C63 was very impressive. The car was way louder than my 2012. I found the engine to be very responsive. No sense of turbo lag at all. I think all the C63 present had the carbon ceramic brakes.

Mine was delivered in June and came with Dunlops. I complained to the dealer and they swapped it with another car so I now have Michelin PSS. A lot better (I had dunlops on the A45 and they were terrible)

Same here in the US. The one I test drove had the Dunlops. I'm hoping that the one that I ordered will have the Michelins. I guess it's just a case of hit or miss there as well.
