Why is Coupe So Much More Agressive Looking Than Sedan??

With pictures all over the web and on this forum of the coupe, I gotta ask...why did MB decide to make the coupe so much more aggressive looking than the sedan? As much as I love the look of the sedan, after seeing the wide, aggressive stance of the coupe makes me want it even more. If only it had 5 seats....

Wow, can't believe the difference. The shape of blown guards to the extra crease in bonnet. Wait until you compare the rear view, it is chalk & cheese.

Obviously Merc-AMG has a totally different vision for their sedan versus their coupe. It seems they want to maintain that luxury "sleeper" look in the sedan and the coupe is obviously a more aggressive taut looking vehicle, competing with the likes of M4. I figured this out when they failed to flare the C63 sedan at release. IMHO, it might be the only thing the M3 has over the C63S sedan.

The coupe looks similar to the gts. I love it. About time they make an aggresive coupe besides the Bs

The C63 was the first car AMG designed completely different the normal vehicle. You can clearly see that.

Easy broad answer is coupes are usually if not always the most sporty and dynamic variant of any car model so they end up nearly always looking the better for it, it's about time MB/AMG did a more "pronounced" job of this on their coupes than leave it all exclusively to BS coupe variants

IMHO coupes almost always look better than sedans of the same car type regardless of big or small changes to the sheet metal, the sleeker lower silhouette lines alone makes a huge difference

Always a case of each to their own sedan/estate if you must, coupe for everybody else

The angles at which the photos were taken are obviously different you can see. The sedan was taken from a higher pov.

I spoke to AMG and insisted they make the coupe more aggressive looking than the luxie sedan/saloon....I told I'd buy an Aston Martin if they didn't listen....they fortunately listened and cannot wait to see/buy the Black Series!!

I hope they transfer a lot more of the DTM into it. I'm hoping more than the last aero package Black Series they produced in 12/13....being able to go 315 in the rear- stock on the new w205 BS, will be ideal and worth it. Especially in time, with how much power that little 4.0tt will be putting out after mods, tune, etc.

That's a very obvious difference...

IMHO a direct front on view of the W205 C63 is its best angle, the new C205 C63 absolutely trumps it from the same frontal aspect, it's not just the wider fenders and flares it's also the lower roof line and it also looks fantastic from every other aspect view point, the same cannot be said of the sedan IMO.

In real life the differences will be even more obvious and very easy for someone with a knowing eye to tell apart if you had either one of these in your rear view

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
MB should flare the fenders for the C63 sedan more than the rest of the C lineup. The external rear view mirror and lower height also give it a different look. Of course, now the C-coupe finally has the sporty frameless door windows, like Bimmer's coupes.

64mm wider in the front and 66mm in the back!
