2016 C63 S QUESTIONS
Hi everyone,I used to be a frequent visitor of the W204 forum until my baby(2012 c63 sedan) was totaled on 9/11/15.So I'm looking at the MY2016 C63 S sedan as a possible replacement. Some of the automotive mags had a few gripes with 2015/2016 cars. One mentioned the car had an extremely harsh ride, even in comfort mode,on anything but very smooth pavement,Another said the car had a very annoying hesitation when trying to accelerate from a stop.Has any one experienced the same problems with their cars??I'd appreciate any input...Thnx

I don't own one...yet. So can't comment on ride quality, but do know from being on this forum that hesitation issue was corrected with a software update. Think it was only on MY15 too.

The ride in 'Comfort' mode is far from harsh. It's might be ever so slightly more firm than my previous S4 in 'Comfort' mode. It's extremely livable for everyday driving. My daily drive includes not-so-smooth Texas country roads, the highway, and suburban roads.
Also, when in 'Comfort' mode, the car accelerates from a stop in second gear instead of first. Some might consider that hesitation. That can be easily changed via the 'Individual' mode settings.

Ride is firm. I don't think it is harsh, but my dad did comment on the ride when he sat in it. That said, when I put him behind the wheel he had no complaints just a big grin :P.
I noticed throttle hesitation more when I first got the car (not a lot, but I did notice it here and there), and now I don't as much. This could be because I'm institutionally avoiding situations that bring it about. Also, mostly seems to happen in comfort mode. Put it in sport/sport+/race, problem seems to go away.

A45, Amarok, C63s Edition 1 wagon.
Mine hasn't been built yet but I (finally) drove one yesterday. Comfort mode handled crappy Australian country town roads without any problem - it's a much nicer ride than my VW R36. Sport+ mode was also extremely comfortable.
I didn't notice any hesitation, but I was driving in manual mode.

The ride is "firm" in comfort mode but definitely not "harsh". It actually rides better than my other car (Audi A5 running on 19 inch wheels) and feels a lot more solid and luxurious. If you want to get picky, you could argue that the acceleration can be a bit "doughy" off the mark in comfort mode as it takes off in second gear. However, that comment is probably more about how ferocious the acceleration is in the other modes that take off in first gear. I am running my car in (only 800 km down) but have at times still lost traction off the line in sport mode driving "conservatively".

I just want to second (or fifth?) this. In comfort mode, the ride is definitely firm, but not harsh. I'm coming from a '13 C350 coupe, so the ride is firmer on the W205. With the ECO start/stop mode on, there's a bit of a delay in accelerating from a complete stop, but it disappears when it's turned off.

Just to be clear, the ride on the W205 is definitely less harsh than on the W204, particularly in comfort mode. I don't find the ride on my wife's W204 objectionable, but my C63S is smoother.
Bottom line, if you liked the ride on your 2012 C63, you will be quite happy with a new C63.
The transmission hesitation is rare, but does happen in limited circumstances. It is worse in Comfort and Sport modes, and not so bad in Sport+ and Race modes. Basically, if you are braking to a stop, you can catch the transmission as it is down shifting from 2nd to 1st. If you try to accelerate at that moment, there is a delay in accelerating while the trans sorts itself out.
Fortunately, you can set up Individual mode so that you can have the engine / trans in Sport+ mode while the suspension is in comfort or sport mode. This minimizes the hesitation issue and keeps the engine and transmission in their most responsive and fun modes while still allowing a softer ride if desired.

This review says they've improved the Comfort mode for the C205 so you might want to consider this. Or may be they've done the same for the MY2016 W205?
